Peyton Manning released by Colts

i wish the niners? i can wish right?
Really? You guys went 13-3 and, if I recall, have a pretty decent QB in Alex Smith.

I don't think Peyton is going to be what he used to be. He's older and he's not surrounded by the talent anymore. He would make a good mentor to a younger guy (as backup) or as a desperation pickup by a losing team. His days as an elite NFL QB are over, at least in my opinion.

There's a lot of Seattle talk, I wouldn't object to that.

I'd say the front runners are: Miami, Arizona, Seattle, and Washington.

He is/was the talent. 3-13 w/out him. What's that tell you?

Nobody's paying him $20 million to be a cheerleader. That's what it's gonna take to get him. He doesn't need the money and he's not up for a victory lap on a last place team.

People said the same thing about Favre. He had his best season statistically in Minnesota.

He's got plenty in the tank. I bet he tears the league up wherever he goes. He's been slighted.

Apparently his first choice would be an AFC team; so Niners are not very likely.

Is NYC big enough to handle 2 Mannings?!?

Jets would be smart to do it. Sanchez is terrible. To me they are a decent QB away from being what Rex constantly blathers about.

It's difficult because at this point everything is hearsay. But on ESPN they were saying that Peyton has no desire to play in New York.

I think that whoever offers him the most money (guaranteed) signs him. AFC/NFC won't matter, It's All About The Benjamin's.

Miami will sign both Manning and Reggie Wayne. Washington is out...their system sucks and I doubt they'll bow to Manning and allow him to run the offence. Seattle is out...they have ZERO chance of winning anything. The Jets might also be an option.

Either way, he'll end up in the AFC as he doesn't want to go head to head with his brother...unless they met up at the end. That would make quite the Super Bowl.

Just here watching NFL Network and it looks like
Manning has told Miami he won't be playing with
them.Guess he didn't want to have to play Brady
and the Pats twice a year.Oh well, the beat goes on
I guess. The Fish will suck as per normal!!!:|:|

Officially a Bronco. So now...where does Tebow go? My hope is the AFL.

I think he could thrive in a situational role in New England, and be given a chance to work on his mechanics and such. Wouldn't be surprised if he wound up in Jacksonville or Miami, because they need to sell tickets, and in Florida he would definitely do that.
