Ok I am confused. One judge scored it 48/47 Hunt while the others scored it 47/47. Simple math says (48+47+47 Hunt) - (47+47+47) = HUNT. But for some reason its a draw. After seeing an amazing fight like this I want to say draw but the scores do not add up. Have I missed something????

Yeah, a majority draw is pretty rare in MMA, but it's what happened tonight. In a majority draw, two of the three judges agree there was no clear winner to the fight, while the third judge believes one fighter won. Bearing in mind that each judge's scorecard is different, and each judge gets a say (it's not the addition and subtraction of all the scorecards that determines by points,) the fight is called a draw on the basis that 2/3rds of the judging panel found no clear winner.

Majority draws in the UFC nowadays are pretty rare with the way the judges use the 10 point must system. In fact, I'm not sure I remember one at all, let alone in a main event since BJ Penn / Jon Fitch

I got the chance to watch the replay of this fight and holy crap that was a war. Truly no loser in that fight. They really need to have a rematch! :corn:

In a way they are both losers in that they have very likely had time taken off of their lives due to the punishment that they took in this fight.

Doing what they love for a living. I have to assume they know what they are doing is not good for their body in the long term. Same as any contact sport.

Watching them celebrating at the end and hugging it out I have to think they both feel like winners after that one.

Great fight for the sport and for the fans.
