Halak traded again

I think his response to those chants set those 'Peggers in place pretty quick.

Eh, not a worry, he can deal with this the rest of his life:

Anyways, it should be interesting to see what happens with this. I think the Isles got an absolute bargain at the 4th round price tag with Halak. Guy is definitely a capable tender.

Miller is headed to the West Coast - or at least that is where he and his wife want to be. Rumors abound that Anaheim is the landing spot and that he will be charged with grooming Gibson - who knows.

A fourth for Halak is a lot - especially when all you have is the rights to negotiate for Halak's services. If they end up signing him it's not such a bad deal but his bargaining power just went through the roof as well. So what they really got for the 4th rounder is about 60 days - we shall see if it pays off or not.

Meh, I find it rather funny that people will give an athlete a hard time for an Olympic Silver Medal. I mean, it's not like Winnipeg knows what it's like to have a hockey team that wins anything, let alone even make the playoffs..... :duh:

The Quackers already let Fasth go, and he was no slouch. They still have Hiller (although a UFA) and Andersen, both extremely capable goalies. And they have Gibson waiting in the wings. I can see them letting Hiller walk away, but Andersen is a pretty dang good goalie and signed for 2 more years. I just dont see them bringing in Miller unless they let Hiller walk and then trade Andersen or something. Maybe they leave Andersen there as the backup and Gibson as 3rd string, but Gibby wants to be on the big club and play in teh NHL sooner rather then later.

And it's not like the State of Washington (as opposed to D.C.) knows what it's like to have an NHL team whatsoever.

Don't mean to completely take this thread off the tracks, but you might want to familiarize yourself with a little history.

Go look at what the Jets had built in the WHA before it was basically demolished upon their entrance into the NHL. They had one helluva team that would have wreaked major havoc in the NHL, but again, as I mentioned before, it was dismantled thanks to the league a bunch of BS stipulations.

People often question how good the Jets really were at this point in time... well, they were the only team that knocked off the USSR team. Nobody can EVER take that away from them. I might add, the same USSR team that tied the mighty Montreal Canadiens, 3-3.

I will enjoy going to the rink in the winter to watch my team play...wish I could say the same to you, Tony. ;)

I didn't take it off the rails bud, me thinks someone else brought up the whole Olympics thing (and it wasn't me).

And you might want to educate your neighbor BrownBullHead about Seattle hockey history, I mean, it's not like a team from Seattle was the first US based team to win a Stanley Cup or anything......

i hope he stays with the islanders. They need a goalie. I betcha Capuano and Snow are swooning him even as we speak. The Islanders made some devastating trades this last year, at least help make a few good ones and start by signing halak. Then next on the list is fire Capuano and snow and tell wang to sell the team to someone who is willing to spend money on good players.

MMarch: Never said there wasn't "pro" hockey 'ever' in your state. But, it's kind of funny to bash Winnipeggers as not knowing about a winning hockey team when your team(s) doesn't exist anymore. ;) But I will say, at least you guys know what it's like to lose a team, what with the NBA Supersonics and all. Perhaps if/when you guys get your team (Seattle always in the rumour mill) we can get some lively spirited competition going on the ice. :) For now, Go JETS, Go! :)

The "discussion" Kristian and I were having was friendly banter between us, it was not a personal thing. Seattle has a very long and deep history in hockey that not many know about, they have two WHL teams in the greater Seattle area, and the people here know hockey and want an NHL team. It will happen eventually, the money and corporate dollars are here, just a matter of time.

Isn't this thread about Halak?????Come on guys, keep with the thread and it's not the place to banter back and forth.

I have no idea why the Islanders keep doing these gambles.Cap made out great on this
