A Hockey Card History of the LA Kings

I'm more of a Habs fans personally, but as a collector and a sports fan I thoroughly enjoyed reading that. The part about was Daryl Evans was super cool as that is a story I've never heard. Great job man. Cheers

Sheng, excellent article, very well written. I may have had some variations to my top 50 but it would be darn close to yours.

Thank you for sharing that, cheers my friend!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Anybody know if I can move this thread to Show & Tell? Meant to put it there!

Would love to hear some of your variations!

I'd definitely have Kopitar and Doughty Cup rookies along with a Jonathan Quick Ultimate or SPA RC. Those 3 players are the absolute cornerstones of the 3 areas you need to win championships. (offense, defense, goaltending) And each card is their key card from the Kings team that broke all the "curses".

I'd also have a Stadium Series issue in there from the Kings/Ducks version in 2014. That was a HUGE moment for the SoCal hockey and the Stadium Series being in a warm-weather, non-traditional type hockey climate. And it was played at iconic Dodger Stadium. Plus I think being shut out as the "home" team by their arch rivals in that nationally televised event was kind of a turning point in that season and embarrassed the team. Most had Anaheim pegged as a contender at that point but lo and behold, look who won the Cup again, LA.

I'd have a Gretzky autograph in there as well. SO many to choose from but I think maybe UD Legends Classics Moments where he is holding the #802 goal puck? That was NHL history and a huge component of Kings history. Robitaille and McSorley, two Kings legends in their own right, were involved in the play as well with the primary and secondary assists.

You have a lot of good one's in there I would have gone with as well. I think the Panini Engravatures team card is one of the most iconic Kings issues ever made, maybe the most important to date?

Fantastic article, definitely enjoyed it  I grabbed a couple of cheap ones from comc after reading it (the Evans base and triple crown opc) and there are some of the cards at the top of my want list and have been for a while, like the team engravatures and triple crown hard signed autograph. The swatch on yours is ridiculous, but my Martinez jazz hands puck is one my favorites, really need to update my signature haha
