So let me get this straight, you're saying that when I ask what options I have to have a parcel delivered, I should HAVE to take the most expensive to make sure it gets done properly? Sorry but whatever the price I paid is the price I was given. I offer each option to my clients and they choose whatever they want. I never said I was asking for any type of insurance. I'm simply asking for my parcel to be delivered which is EXACTLY what I paid for. If you don't perform the service a client pays for then that client should at least get his/her money back, no?
I can't even believe I had to explain this to you.
Once it leaves Canada, it is out of CP hands. CP can't fly people all over the world to deliver packages (although with their rates, I am sure they could afford it), this is why they offer additional services, like tracking and insurance.
You chose not to select any of those options. Sure the cost is more, but I doubt you would be as upset as you are right now if you had selected an option that would get you the declared value back. If this is the method your client chose, then they have to wait it out.
Things like this aren't new. I always know there is a risk when shipping something. If it is something of value and want to be covered for any loss, I pay the few extra dollars for "liability coverage" (think this is what CP calls it).
That's a silly statement. Why have the service available if it doesn't work? The price difference, in reality, reflects the amount of time it will take to get to its destination. Turns out that the price difference is actually a roll of the dice.
It's not that it "doesn't work". They offer the service because for the most part it works. Nothing is perfect, which is why they offer additional services.
Besides, whats to say the person in Germany did receive it and is telling a fib about not receiving it? He prolly hasn't received it, but still you never know.
The guy on the phone needs to obviously be re-trained.
