Pick Your All-Time Favorite Nine

Flyers:
Bernie Parent
Pelle Lindbergh
Mark Howe
Chris Pronger
Bobby Clarke
Bill Barber
Eric Lindros
Brian Propp
Claude Giroux

:whale: only

(No Canes)

Ron Francis
Sean Burke
Mike Liut
Geoff Sanderson
Gordie Howe
Dave Keon
Kevin Dineen
Ray Ferraro
John Garrett

(Do not want to see Coffey or Shanahan or Pronger)
Real Whalers fans have no time for them

Sabres:
Perreault
Martin
Gare
Hasek
Andreychuk
LaFontaine
Mogilny
Miller
Eichel

Very close to my list:
Hasek
Perreault
LaFontaine
Miller Martin
Mogilny
Turgeon
Andreychuk
Gare

Brian Price

Just doesn't seem right to have 2/3 of the connection.

Perreault
Martin
Robert
Gare
Lafontaine
Mogilny
Andreychuk
Hasek
Miller

New Jersey Devils:

Martin Brodeur
Scott Stevens
Scott Niedermayer
Ken Daneyko
Claude Lemieux
Patrik Elias
John MacLean
Randy McKay
Bobby Holik

I agree this 100%
For the current / future Devils I'd love to see all in Devils colors:

Hall
Henrique
Palmieiri
Cammalleri
Zajac
Zacha
Greene
Severson
Schneider.

You could always do a past 9 and present 9 booklet? that would be awesome

I personally would take Gary Suter over Joe Mullen giving the edge for games played and he was defenceman

564 points in 617 games for Suter
388 points in 345 games for Mullen

Very close to my list.

Iginla
MacInnis
Fleury
Kiprusoff
McDonald
Nieuwendyk
Vernon
Mullen
Loob

I thought Loob had a bigger impact on the franchise than GIlmour.

Brian Price

Winnipeg Jets:

Dale Hawerchuk
Thomas Steen
Bobby Hull
Teemu Selanne
Paul MacLean
Teppo Numminen
Randy Carlyle
Fred Olausson
Phil Housley

But almost as important as the inclusions on this list is that Keith Tkachuk is excluded. Winnipeg fans were not big fans of his during his time in Winnipeg. His presence would ruin the card for many Jets fans.

Also a note that the Jets never had a goalie who really made a difference so no need to include one. However if you were to, I would nominate Khabibulin, he brought us out of our seats more than any other goalie did.

I would put Dave Ellett over Olausson. Perhaps the greatest goal in Jets playoff history. Olausson has a slight points lead but also played one extra year in Winnipeg.

Here's my Canucks list. Since I didn't live in Van during the 70s & 80s you'll see my list skew accordingly:

Trevor Linden
Pavel Bure
Stan Smyl
Markus Naslund
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Roberto Luongo
Todd Bertuzzi
Ed Jovanovski

Note: if there was a 10th slot - i would give it to Kesler

My Pick for the Oilers:

The HOFers are the easy first few picks:

Gretzky
Messier
Coffey
Anderson
Kurri
Fuhr

The other 3? I would go with:

Ranford / Tikkanen / Lowe

Other dynasty era players I'd give the honourable mention to:

Charlie Huddy, Randy Gregg, Andy Moog.

Post Dynasty: Ryan Smyth, Doug Weight.

Current: Connor McDavid.

There's been a few comments in this thread about other concepts for cards outside of these "top 9". If the memorabilia was available, or the autographs were available (which I don't imagine they would be, because at least one of these guys - I think - won't sign) I would suggest this combination.... the list of 7 players to have won 5 Cups with the Oilers:

Messier
Kurri
Anderson
Lowe
Gregg
Huddy
Fuhr

Very close to my list:
Hasek
Perreault
LaFontaine
Miller Martin
Mogilny
Turgeon
Andreychuk
Gare

Brian Price

Dr. Price, it was nice to meet you at Expo Friday, my wife and I spoke to you about Gilbert Perreault. I match up with your list with one possible exception; was never that big on Turgeon as a Sabres player, I think his best days came after. I think Housley would be my choice!

Mark

Pittsburgh Penguins

Mario Lemieux
Sidney Crosby
Kevin Stevens
Jaromir Jagr
Evgeni Malkin
Ron Francis
Paul Coffey
Kris Letang
Tom Barrasso

I don't think the Wild necessarily have a long enough history for this, but here are my 9 favorites over the last 17 years.

Gaborik
Rolston
Roloson
Koivu
Parise
Brunette
Bouchard
Walz
Burns (maybe Suter)
