sticker autos in the cup

It probably has something to do with him playing back in Russia. Had UD released closer to the end of the season, they probably would have been hard signed.

Depends if someone's available to go to St. Petersburg to chase him down. Somehow I don't think he's too chuffed about signing a few thousand cards if someone from UD shows up on his doorstep.

So you can either live with that or you can sit on a redemption that potentially may take a very long time to be filled. Or Plotnikov finally realizes that his KHL salary may get clawed back worse than the NHL escrow and could use a little bit of extra pocket money...

In any case, it's not like he will be an essential hit to anyone other than team or set collectors

Yup.

And if it's a choice between some stickers or another delay...I'll take the stickers.

Totally agree with Quincy. Hard signed are preferential but months of frustration are not worth it.

Especially for Plotnikov... Waiting on McDavid, Larkin, Domi etc may be worth it, but Id rather see as lesser rookie just packed out with a sticker. Especially one that's in the KHL now anyway.

The inaugural incarnation of The Cup in 2005-06 had stickers as well. LOTS.

i ripped a ton of Cup that year and also bough a bunch off eBay and never saw one sticker out... i must have somehow missed that somehow..
Correction yup there totally were lots of them.... wow how sometime we block things out eh

A lot of my lower numbered lafleurs in 05 06 were stickers, the other half were hard signed.
i pulled his limited logos #/8 i think it was, and it was 100% hard signed.

Yup.

And if it's a choice between some stickers or another delay...I'll take the stickers.

for a $650 - $700 pack, it damn well better be hard signed, so i disagree.

I am in the minority here. I could care less if its a sticker. I swear we are the only market that gets our knickers in a knot over hard signed versus not hard signed...

I'd take a Gretz sticker auto over a potentially hard signed redemption any day of the week lol

I agree. If the sticker meshes well with the card itself it looks fine. I don't get the obsession with hard signed stuff

I think it may have something to do with the fact that the player/person had actually held that card at some point.Rather than that player setting a desk somewhere signing a bunch of sheets and sending them along to a card company to have them place them on that card. But I agree that for me it really does not make a big difference.
But for some of these vintage players that are no longer with us probably signed many sheets and we will see autographed cards for years to come.
Because card companies have those auto stock piled somewhere.
