Lets start this baby up :veryhappy:

Sid leads the league in goals and is battling for the most points. He missed the first few weeks of the season and is still there, highest ppg in the top 10. His team is also battling for tops in the league while missing 6-7 key guys including Malkin. Sid is like a fine wine, keeps getting better with age.

This has been arguably his best season to date.

My pick would be either be McDavid (where would the Oilers be without him?) or Bobrovsky.

The player MOST VALUABLE to his team has to be McDavid. Without him (no offense Oilers fans) you aren't making the playoffs.

Without Sid, Malkin is still Top 5 in points per game as a supporter, and Murray/Fleury have played great. Not taking anything away from Sid as his season has been phenomenal, but McDavid would be my choice for MVP.

Auston Matthews. Just kidding!

But seriously...

1. Bobrovsky - c'mon the guy has been stellar all year
2. McDavid - I agree with Derrick, him and Talbot are the Oilers.
3. Crosby - Amazing season and like Scott said, he just gets better with age. His back handed wrister after splitting two sets of defenders is a highlite we will be seeing forever.

I'm as big a Penguins fan as anyone here, and I'm not even sure I can Crosby is the most valuable to his team. Still the best in the league, but I cannot argue he's been more crucial to his team's success than Bobrovsky.

After that, McDavid. First playoff appearance in 10 years for the Oil. That's huge.

Then maybe Crosby. Because he's still Sidney ****ing Crosby.

I'm surprised you didn't include "did not live up to the hype" :box:
suggestion: just add it to your signature

Agree with this list for the same reasons.

Bobrovsky is great and he deserves vezina but columbus is scoring >3 goals per game and would win a lot even with worse goaltending

Agree with the above (and I'm a big goalie person) but CBJ is 5th in the league in scoring behind PIT, WSH, NYR, and MIN. Same goes for Holtby. Both are spectacular, but have been with a lot of goal support as well.

I think it is a no-brainer... Oilers are making the playoffs for the first time in a long time... Look at the record from last year to this year. what is the difference????

ADAM LARSSON 2016-17 Hart Trophy Favorite!

Got to be honest I never even thought about Bobrovsky. Have to agree he is well up there and should get some serious consideration. The question is well he even win the Vezina? Wouldn't that be cool to win the Hart and not the Vezina lol. I think Talbot is the Oilers MVP.

If you take Sid away, Pittsburgh makes the playoffs with Malkin, Kessel, Murray, Fleury.

If you take McDavid away, Oilers in the bottom competing for 1st picks... probably with Colorado.

Really? I think they are fighting for a playoff spot without Crosby.

Crosby
McDavid
Johnny Hockey..

Gaudreau? That's a stretch IMHO. An argument could be made that Backlund has meant more to the Flames this year than Johnny Hockey.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Brent Burns yet.
