Have you ever sold a card to the player on the card?

I have collected Danny Taylor stuff since he was with the Kingston Frontenacs. I actually have his pads from the team and I still use them myself. I had been collecting the UD Black Letterman Patch cards, and was missing the "Y" when an entire set came up for way less than I had paid for the single cards, so I bought it. The "Y" came up a few weeks later, so I bought it. Danny was the goalie in a summer charity tune up came for the local guys from the NHL and OHL, so I went and gave him the 2nd set and got a puck signed by him as well. I have a friend that is friends with Danny's parents, and he got me a signed, game used stick from his days with the Abbotsford Heat. Danny's deal Minsk Dynamo has ended now, so he is a UFA again. I am hoping he gets on with a North American team with a chance to get back to the NHL. His numbers have been really good everywhere.

I recently sold a bunch of Prizm rookies to a former goalie for the canucks. The name is escaping me now..

I gave a bunch of Sam Bennett's UD Team Canada cards to his mom and dad last week - really nice folks, and Sam is a lot taller than I expected.

And yesterday, Jonathan Cheechoo's uncle came through the store and bought some stuff -- also a nice guy.

I've never sold to any player that I'm aware of but I have sold 2 baseball cards to Keith Olbermann and he's not stingy with the wallet either.

I agree with you 100%. Sold a 2002-03 topps heritage set with the rookies and short prints, and base inserts to Mr. olberman for $350.00 fled.

David lee the basketball player parents have bought many cards from me of his autographed cards on ebay.

They did live just down the road from me, im sure they have relocated since his rookie year

Oh this is so odd. I just sold a card to Tomas Hertl who bought a card of himself. Also located in SJ. Coinkydink? Maybe. but cool nonetheless.

While I'm not going to doubt any of the stories here, I just want to bring up the aspect that if I would have a full namesake in NHL, I would definitely PC him.

I've heard from numerous local shop owners that Stempniak's parents collect his stuff, although I haven't been able to get in touch with them, despite meeting his brother, and bowling with his grandmother lol.

Shame because I have some extras /10 and what not that I would like to give to them

I tweeted Ryan Vandenbussche tonight (talking to him as we speak lol) and he told me he collects his own cards. I'm also getting a few base signed by him ttm :)

He said he sold him Prizm RCs so that would be Joe Cannata

Yep that is the name i could not remember.

Recent former Canuck? Alex Auld? Or from before...Kay Whitmore?

Joe Cannata.

I sold a card recently to a Tomas Hertl.. that was cool.. also lives in SJ.

I thought there was a thread like this on here.... so instead of starting a new one, I'll just bump one that hasn't been active in nearly four years.

Sold a card over the weekend, was getting it ready to ship this morning, and then noticed that the buyer was Georges Laraque (card was a triple auto of Laraque / McSorley / McClelland)
