Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted any mail. Although the mail has been coming in, I haven't really had a ton of time to sit down and get it ready for posting to HI as I have been working on the Capping Paper for my Master's Degree (cross your fingers for me). As well, if you're on my Twitter and Instagram you've probably kept up with what I've been getting. Anyway, without further adieu, here it is...
I have been on the look out for condition upgrades for some of the older rookie cards in my collection and I would say this is a great upgrade...
1969-70 O-Pee-Chee Frank St. Marseille Rookie Card PSA 9
From this....
A while back during one of my random Google searches for Indigenous players, I came across a message board where someone mentioned Jason Bacashihua as an Indigenous player. Well, I Googled his name and after some digging, I was able to find one article that mentions him being of Native American descent:
http://www.espn.com/minorlh/columns/ballou_bill/1500727.html
Of course, I had to add him to my collection.
2002-03 Upper Deck Rookie Update Jason Bacashihua rookie card /1500
I also have a Jordin Tootoo PC going and picked up, in my opinion, a couple of beauties! These are both really hard to find and honestly never seen either of these since I started collecting again in 2004!
2003-04 SP Authentic Jordin Tootoo FW Auto Limited /50
2003-04 SPx Jordin Tootoo Auto Jersey Spectrum /10 *insert heart eyes emoji here*
Now an update on my Jordin Tootoo PC. Not too shabby!
Even though there are 999 of these, they are honestly hard to come by and do not show up on eBay often. So when one came up for a decent price, I grabbed another!
2014-15 Upper Deck Ice Michael Ferland Ice Premieres Rookie Card /999
I also had one of my friends from Twitter, who is a booster for the Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey Club, send me these to add to my collection:
2018-19 Seattle Thunderbirds Booster Club Update Roddy Ross (Cree) from Canoe Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan and Cody Savey (Nu-Chah-nulth) from Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation in BC.
Although I have a few copies of his rookies in my collection, I find there's nothing better than a Young Gun card.
2018-19 Upper Deck Ethan Bear Young Guns Rookie Card
As well, I have a small Zach Whitecloud collection going and I am currently (slowly) working on putting together a Young Guns Rainbow. As of now I have the regular version, Exclusives /100, Clear Cut, and now this guy:
2018-19 Upper Deck Zach Whitecloud Young Guns Silver Foil
I know I was doing this S&T in chronological format but, I wanted to save this for last because I think this is the best part. If you were to go onto my eBay search bar history you would see the same searches being placed in it for the past year or so. There's about ten different cards or players that I constantly search for and through all my searching I never thought that this card existed. According to Trading Card Database the 1998-99 OPC Chrome Jonathan Cheechoo refractor was out there but, not since I started collecting again in 2004 had I ever seen one. My brother had a big Cheechoo collection when he was in his prime and could never find one either. Well, about two weeks ago this showed up:
Rainbow complete!!!
1998-99 O-Pee-Chee Chrome
1998-99 O-Pee-Chee Chrome Refractor
1998-99 O-Pee-Chee Variant
1998-99 Topps Variant
Sorry for the excitement-it's my first ever rainbow!!!
Thanks for reading and checking out my S&T!
