Looking for info on some Mario Lemieux Topps reprint auto cards

Hey guys, long time no talk!

There is a set out there from the early 2000's I believe that did auto’ed reprints of Mario Lemieux’s OPC/Topps cards from the 80’s and 90’s. I’m looking for some info on which set these came from cause I am thinking of tracking one down once I know which cards are out there.

Also if you have any you’re looking to get rid of then shoot me a PM so we can talk.

I think he's doing the Roy's also. Found these in a earlier post of Tim's. I knew I'd seen those reprint cards somewhere before.

I wanna say 02-03 Topps for the Lemieux.

The Lemieux's were in both the 2000-01 and 2001-02 Topps Base. Most of the base Topps and OPC were in the 00-01 and the Bowman and Premier type were in the 01-02.

The Patrick Roy's were in the 2002-03. If you need more information on these just let me know, I can help out.

You and I both! To date, I have been able to secure only 1 of these, it is a 91-92 OPC auto. They are around and most of the time people are asking big numbers for them. I don't even recall seeing any of the rookie auto's show up, and I track this stuff pretty close. Good luck on the hunt!!

Thanks for the info on these. I’ve always wanted one but if they don’t show up that often maybe I won’t bother then.

2000-01 had the initial set of 23 reprints. There is a signed copy for each card, I own 13/23 for the set. They show up very rarely. Been working on the set since 2008. The odds on the autographs were 1:5456 packs in hobby and over 1:10,000 retail.

2001-02 had another 10 that year they were base subsets from various Topps sets. There were no autograph versions this year. Instead Topps/OPC had autographs of the 5 card Mario Returns subset. These were numbered /66 and are much easier to find than the previous years reprint autographs.

2002-03 did a 13 card Patrick Roy reprint autograph set. These were numbered /33. Many unnumbered versions of these cards have surfaced. These are also much easier to obtain than the 2000-01 Lemieux Reprint autographs.

I own 13 of the original Lemieux autograph set and have seen just about every other one I am missing in another collectors collection. They pop up very sporadically.

If anyone has any of the Lemieux Reprint autographs, please let me know. I'm looking to buy ANY I am missing.
