Loved loved loved those mini masks! This is one set that needs to come back. That is all.

Absolutely. Those masks were beautiful. The auto parallels were even more beautiful. Their are many goalie collectors. So many great things that it has going for it. I can think of a few products that it could easily replace.

The only negative that I can think of is it will not carry much value on the rookies cards.

There is 12+ products for “rookie cards”. Throw a bone to the common man collector lol

*Insert the "shut up and take my money" meme here*

I would go nuts to see that set again. I was lucky enough to get a box like 2 years ago for pretty cheap to open, and it was a blast.

I think I remember you sharing that break. I’m sure it’s a hard product to find, unopened.

Now the artwork on masks are amazing. Imagine pulling:

Andresen Leafs Lego
Fleury Vegas skyline
Gibson old school Ducks
Raanta Wild West
Elliott Casey Jones
etc etc etc

I'd be game for some sweet goalie mask items. :D

I thought I read something a few years back that the Mask cards were too expensive to make because of licensing from the mask designer/painter. Could be the same for something like this.
It could have all been a dream though and none of that actually happened.

I've heard that as well but did any of that every come to fruition? Or was that something the artist wanted compensation for going forward if UD were to keep Mask Collection in their product lineup and they needed to budget for that?

I could see the mini masks being an issue if the artists really wanted to pursue it because they are pieces featuring the mask painters artwork, but I'm no expert on the subject.

I think there would be a market for it.

But would Upper Deck be game for it? That's the question. My inner optimist would love to say yes, but I'm not so sure.
