This series sticks in my mind more than any other from boxes that I opened in the 1990’s. I think it was the crazy numbers more than anything else, but the unique bronze foil emblems embedded in the center of the card were neat too. Hobby only Series One was issued with a total of 180 cards. The 90 regular player cards (1-90) are sequentially numbered to 9500 and feature colour action player photos. Subsets included Global Impact (91-120), NHL Sure Shots (121-150), Marquee Performers (151-170), and Living Legends (171-180). There were 2 parallel sets named Radiance and Spectrum, which each featured their own added modified technology. The first page I created will show you the serial numbers used for these sets. The second page shows examples of the Base set as well as the different versions within the Global Impact group. Time to take a bit of a break from this, I'll try to add some more pages in the not too distant future.

I remember pulling a Marquee Performers Spectrum #/25 back in the day and thinking I hit the jackpot then! Funny what a few years does to the hobby.

Love this set, matter of fact I just completed the base set about a year ago thanks to COMC. This was a set I had my list for every year at every show looking and hoping for just one card. I remember buying these boxes as closeouts at KMart in Delaware back in the late 90's. I still have the complete set, not sure what I will do with it but still very cool!

Thanks for the visits and comments everyone. This set will forever have a special place in my hobby memories. Curt, I still think hitting a Marquee Performers Spectrum #/25 is hitting the jackpot, even at this point in time.

I both love and hate this set. So many Roy cards I still need from it.

Is that Roy /225 yours?

Its still amazing to me that at one point this year there were three sealed boxes of this available on eBay. The original seller listed his for $999.99 because that's what the NBA version lists for. Then DACW listed a box for the same price and then finally a third seller listed their's for $799.99.

Its safe to say that those boxes are going to remain unopened for years if the pricing stays at that level. Even if you managed to pull the top end cards /25 or /1, you're not breaking even.

I broke a blaster of UD3 last year. Fun stuff.

I own a couple of SPx Finite singles, among the highest #ed ones in my Habs PC. They are nice cards to look at.

Those foil emblems had me hooked, they are neat cards for sure.

That's crazy. :crazy:There's a Jimmie Olvestad Spectrum #1/1 on eBay listed at $299.99 US. First one of those I've seen.

That’s a cool set

Thanks Jason, I usually didn't buy multiple boxes of the same series back in the 90's, but I did with this series.

agree! Not worth nearly as much as they were, but still a monster pull that can bring in good money. I STILL need the Hasek for my PC

The funny thing is, the cards are have sensitive foil surfaces. They're probably ALL stuck together in the packs, and peeling them apart would ruin them. If you were to spend $700+ on a box it's all straight down the drain.

100% my experience when opening them a few years ago. Not as bad as 01-02 BAP Parkhurst, there wasn't any peeling but the cards were definitely sticky:
