Whos has the best RC value of a player traded early?

Looking through some cards recently, especially my goalie RC pc, and started thinking...

"Who has the most valuable RC of a player featured in a different jersey?"

I'm not talking 7 or 8 years later, I mean early on in his career.

Seguin? 3 years with Boston before being shipped out.

Anyone else come to mind?

How about Brett Hull? I believe he is still in his Calgary Jersey for his RC and it was merely spray painted.

Not valuable cards but Martin St. Louis, Dominik Hasek and Mats Sundin would be some popular franchise players with their RCs not with those franchises.
As for value, some older ones like Phil Esposito and Johnny Bower come to mind.

Definitely not the most valuable, but Sergei Bobrovsky, Justin Williams and Patrick Sharp come to mind as Flyers rookies that went on to succeed tremendously elsewhere.

Johnny Bower?

He played 70 games for the Rangers in 53-54 and got a RC in 54-55 Parkhurst. Over the next three years he played 5, 2, and 0 NHL games each season and had no cards. After joining the Leafs in 58-59 he again appeared in 58-59 Parkhurst.

True but as piper1 was alluding to the actual photograph used was Hull in a calgary uniform that they airbrushed a blues jersey on top of. So on a technicality Hull is wearing a flames jersey it's just covered up!

Tavares had 6 years with the islanders before being traded. OP is looking for players that got shipped soon after their rc year.


Johnny Bower would be up there I would think. Minimal time spend on his rookie team.

Blake Wheeler is another. Didn't even sign with his draft team (Arizona), then spent three meh seasons in Boston and ended up being traded to the Thrashers/Jets franchise where he's been a stud ever since. Hasn't translated to a valuable RC though, at least with his YG.
