21/22 Young Guns Preview

I think once the foil treatment is added to the card it'll look good. It's just a horrible picture of Caufield. It's a mockup anyways, they never look good, but I think it has potential.

Last years YG and the 2013-14 with the lens flare were by far the the worst

I like the Young Guns design and will appreciate it even more once these are actually printed. Foils, parellels, etc.
 
call me crazy but I like the fact that you can read the players name on that card, some years it seems very difficult to read, also if they do any of the young guns horizontal those will look very appealing in my opinion, perhaps they could do all of the young guns vertical and then a case hit horizontal young gun.
 
I think it's a BEAUTIFUL design. I love the black border...that's going to make low pop 10s worth something without the artificial bump.
 
I am actually a fan of it. I love that you can easily read the players name and I like the fact that it has a black border which should make these tough to gem when sent for grading.
 
Two things I note with the design - the very side strip will make photo selection a bit more difficult and won’t lend as well to some action shots (vert to horz ratio is high) and those black borders will, as noted elsewhere, impact gradability. That said, I like the design and think it will be sharp. I’ll like it even better if they can get the exclusive/ high gloss numbering on the black as opposed to in the photo.

No different IMO than 2007-08 Young Guns (Price, Kane, Toews year).
 
Most years their mock up looks pretty ugly, but when they come out most of that sentiment disappears.
 
From a design perspective, 25% of the width is taken up by the silver/black on the right. However, the extreme right side borders are a lighter color, which should help aesthetically with inevitable complaints about quality control.
