Fall Toronto Expo - Does It Happen?

I hear that, but Carrabana is on this weekend? Yes outdoors, but we are talking over 1mm attendees and participants….I’m so confused….

The Fan Expo Canada is a go for October in Toronto and that’s a way bigger show.

The last information I saw in regards to this was for a much more limited audience of around 25K people. Which is, depending on the year, between 16-25% of their usual; it draws anywhere from 100-150K.

I can see Expo being the same. With gatherings for event spaces limited to 50% or 1,000 people (whichever is less), I'm curious as to what their approach would be around that.

ie. Sell 1,000 tickets per day or sell timed tickets where they can have 1,000 people per slotted time (coloured bracelets for all, blue is in from 10am - 2pm, empty the room and then red is in from 2:30pm to 6:30pm, etc). What a mess to have to navigate through.

I wouldn't make the long drive for only four hours entrance.

Without knowing the capacity limits of the building, it is hard to put it to discussion, but being a giant empty rectangle certainly helps.

Think of it this way; think of the busiest, fullest, smelliest trip it has ever been on one of your trips….. and know that they weren’t at capacity, lol.

For those not in Ontario, the above is the key number. I'm personally speculating that with the volumes that Fan Expo would forecast that they're hoping we're out of Stage 3 at which point this restriction will change (to what we don't know). The trick is to get out of stage 3 we need 80% of the 12 and older with one vaccine does - good news we just got there (80.25), we also need 75% with both doses, that'll take some doing, we're at 66% but there's plenty of time to get there with the rate we've been going as long as the desire to get this done doesn't stall. Note there is also a clause around every individual public health unit hitting certain minimums, but that's not quite as easy to find the data on.

There is still plenty of uncertainty.
