I suppose its possible but it brings all sorts of issues and inevitably some people will be offended.

I don’t think we need any different rules… just make sure people do their due diligence, the same way they would everywhere else… many of us have longtime connections here that still provides an extra level of comfort, but I’m only extending that to the folks I know.

Unfortunately the increase in scammers is inevitable with the growth in the hobby the past 5-6 years. Fortunately I have not been a victim on any of my transactions on this website, usually through ebay, but as someone mentioned earlier ebay is the middlemen.

As much as it sucks for Jeremy, hopefully this is an isolated incident on Hobby Insider but good on Jeremy for using his social media outputs to put the awareness out there so that people have the information on what they can do to help prevent these types of things from happening to them. It there a fool proof solution that everyone will be happy with? Most likely not, the best we can do is take some measures to mitigate these types of things.

I think it also might put you in a position of culpability as having conferred that status on the member.

Update: Police have contacted him and he denied. Never sent me tracking as he promised to. I've asked for my money back and he ignores me. Not sure what to do next but will stay in contact with the police.

Public now. I’d made it private when he told me he was going to send me the tracking. He never did. Just a lying crook.
