Good laugh: "eBay 1/1s" using the player's jersey numbers from the card's serial number

Here's a good laugh...at least for me.

I've seen cards posted on eBay stating they are 1/1s because the serial number forms the player's jersey number. The jersey number has to be 2 digits, and it can only happen if the player's number is less than or equal to the first number. Example:

Nikolai Khabibulin's number is 35. The first digit of the serial number has to be 3 and out of 5...3/5. This forms his jersey number.

The same with Byron Dafoe. His jersey number was 34, so you need to have a card serial numbered 3/4.

This would work for double digit numbers that are the same like a 99 Gretzky card serial numbered 9/9. Joe Sakic 19 card numbered 1/9...etc.

Players with single digit numbers would not work, nor cards like Sidney Crosby with jersey 87...as the card could never be serial numbered 8/7.

Does this claim by Sellers as "eBay 1/1's" make you laugh like they do me? 😄

Thoughts???

Found another one in my collection...sort of.

Even though he shares this card with 7 other scrubs, the serial of 2/9 fits MacKinnon's jersey number. 😄

An “ebay 1/1” is quite possibly the most annoying thing in a listing. I remember seeing that headline and it was #1/xx. I messaged the seller, in all honesty to be purely annoying, and asked what made it a “1/1”. Answer was “first card produced”. So with that logic #2/9 is a 1/1 because it’s the second card produced. Same with #3 and so on.

Just plain dumb IMO.
