I'm a long-time member of HI, but I have not been very active on the forum for about 2 years, since I created a hobby IG account. The core of my PC is unique and rare hockey cards from the 2005-06 product line, both licensed and unlicensed. While I prioritize limited print runs, I will look at any cards that I don't already own from 05/06.

While I cast a wide net to find cards to add to my PC, I've actively been collecting a few low-print-run sets for well over a decade, which I prioritize over cards from other sets. These include the following:
  • 2005-06 UD HG Glossy (1-487)
  • 2005-06 UD Victory Black /5 (1-300)
  • 2005-06 UD Series 1 and 2 Game Patches /15
  • Crosby and Ovechkin rookie cards
These are examples of what these cards look like:

2005-06 High Gloss Parallels (both base and Young Guns) - You can distinguish the HG from the base by observing the bronze finish behind the team name and position; this is silver on the base version. The foil stamping has a rainbow, holo-foil finish to it, and there is the additional "HG GLOSSY" stamp which runs alongside the edge of the card; absent on the base. The Young Guns have a distinct Bronze look to them, very easy to distinguish from the base. Both have a serial number stamp on the back of the card /10.

I currently have 299/487 cards from the set, roughly 61% complete.

2005-06 UD Victory Black Parallels (both base and rookies) - The Victory card set is generally classified as a low-end or beginner product to buy. However, in 2005-06, three different parallels were produced, which could be identified by the border colours. Silver parallels /250, Gold parallels /100, and Black parallels /5. All parallels were serial numbered as well, which was not so in subsequent years. Cards numbers 1-200 each had the three parallels, and were packed into the 2005-06 Victory product boxes. These boxes did not feature any rookies, only inserts and base cards. In 2005-06 UD Series 2 boxes, you could pull Victory update cards, which contained card numbers 201-300, the last 50 of which were rookies. The update set had two parallels produced for each card: the Gold and Black parallels.

My Black Victory parallel set sits at 88/300 cards, or 29% complete.

2005-06 UD Game Jersey Patch (both Series 1 and 2) - The 05/06 UD Jersey Game Patches from both series look very similar to each other upon first glance. The biggest difference is the patch window size and patch border. Series 1 had a larger window, while Series 2's was smaller and featured a white border around the memorabilia.

My Series 1 Set count is 82/142 cards, roughly 58% complete

My Series 2 Set count is 65/93 cards, roughly 70% complete

If you have any cards from this set, even if they aren't currently available, I'd love to know. Also, if you have any cards from 2005-06 that you'd like to move, please let me know! I look forward to seeing what's out there! :)

wow those are some crazy projects. I thought my 2019 Team canada juniors high gloss set numbered to 25 was tough enough. But these are next level, maybe even multiple levels tougher

These sets definitely aren't for the faint of heart, haha. I suspect it will take me another decade or two to see the finish line on this set.

With everything going on now I don't know if I'd want to ship to Canada.
