Hello all,
I've notice some other members complaining about redemption cards from UD. I opened a box of 04/05 spa when it first came out and pulled the Captains OCTOGRAPH /5. GRETZKY / TROTTIER / CLARKE / ESPOSITO / IGINLA / THRONTON / NASLUND / KOIVU. I redeemed it instantly. Well after waiting about a year, they sent me 6 packs of complimentry product (got a no name auto, WOW) then shortly after they changed the status of my card from Athelete commited to signing soon to Auto's in house. I've contacted them about 20 times in the past 18 months, about 5 times since the status has changed. Even though all the auto's are in house now, they cannot give me a time line on when the card will be made. This is so frustrating. Seems like they could care less about my frustrations and have little to no helpfull information to offer. What else can I do but wait.
Thanks
Casey

Make sure you file a complaint to the local Better Business Bureau. I believe there was a previous thread that discussed this topic.

At the very least the BBB. I'm still waiting for two quad SOTT's from the same product.

Hm. Do two quad autos equal one octograph? :o

Hey guys,
How do I go about contacting the BBB and what kind of process will I have to go through? Also, what good will it really do anyways? Will they fine upperdeck? Will they get them to make my card? What if everyone who's been waiting over 6 months for a UD redemption should all file a complaint at the same time. Maybe they'd do something about it then?

Quincy,
I'm not sure what 2 quads equals but I know an Octograph should = lots of nice Richards.:)

Keep all your correspondence with U.D.,it seems there is talk of a class action suit heating up,and a complaint like yours is what the lawyers like!

This is an on going problem for sure and contacting The Better Business Bureau is most likely a very good idea.I recently had a problem that is totally not sports card related.I contacted the BBB and they told me that it would cost me $50.00 to file a complaint. If this is the case than for a lot of these cards it really would not be worth while. On the other hand if we as collectors could file a combined complaint and if there is a charge than it would cheaper. As well as it will show the total lack of respect this company has for us collectors.
So I am just curious if anyone has contacted the BBB and is there in fact a charge to file a complaint.
Thanks,Winston.

Actually I think filing a BBB report in San Diego area(Carlsbad) where UD is located is free..I did one a while back and didn't cost me anything, just time..

All my contact with UD has been by phone.
I think Winston said it best "total lack of respect this company has for us collectors."

Frank, the autographs are all stickers. I am actually waiting on the same card, and it has been a frustrating wait to say the least. Today is actually the 19-month mark for this card.

The only hard-signed cards in 04/05 SPA are the single, double, and triple Sign of the Times.

On top of that, both Six Star Signatures are redemptions, and the 05/06 Octograph is also a redemption, all three are still outstanding.

I just find it ridiculous that a company can put a redemption of a card that does not even exist in it's packs. If the autographs are in, they just need to be "stuck" to the card that they supposedly already made

That would be logical, but this is UD....what in the last two years has made any sense

Had a reply from the BBB and there is no charge filing a complaint. They have an online form. It can be filed from any country. Just go to www.sandiego.bbb.org then on the left-hand side of the page there is a button "Complaint Information" click on it than onto complaint form and proceed with filling it out. Perhaps we could get together and file a complaint as a group or at the very least everyone files at the same time (day). There is always something to be said with "there is strength in numbers”. Thanks, Winston.

The best thing to do is file a complaint through your attorney general's office. I have done that on a few companies & believe me it works much better than the BBB but whatever you all do I wish you luck in recieving your cards.
