Hey,

I'm wondering what kind of sets would you love to see?

Myself, I would love to see ITG doing a product with a design similar to Parkhurst Retro, but with only legend players and oldtimers in it.

You, what do you want to see?

Personally, after the season ends, I'd like a set with all players that played at least one game, include all trades and have final stats on the back. It will NEVER happen. No parallels, no inserts, no autos, no jerseys and no patches.

They could also put referee and puck cards, and call it Proset 2007!!

Seriously, it would be nice to see an end-of-season release with all the players, but I think there's a place for small inserts, and long-odds autos.

Maybe something like Topps Total was, but with everyone in it.

Sounds like the FRANCHISES sets. I love that stuff. I would like to see Upper Deck come out with a set of nothing but redemptions:p No wait, thats just wrong, lol. Seriously, I would like to see Upper Deck Legends Classics again. That was a nice set design and great autos, ALL HARD SIGNED.

I like that idea. but as you said...

I'd be happy to see a set that included those players on the roster for a season who have yet to have a card issued with their current team...

Taking that a bit further, how about a catch-up type set that pictures those players who played for your team, but never had a card picturing them in the team jersey -- oh now I'm just dreaming...;)

I guess this is a similar theme to what steveloy is asking for, but how about an Opening Day set, where all players on the roster as of the first game of the season are in the set. It's a set that could come out in December, and would feature many of the players that you rarely see on cards.

It's sad about how few non-RC cards exist of some players. I've actually purchased a box of 03-04 ITGA to come with my UD2 order, as I'm looking forward to the prospect of finding some players I never see in any Upper Deck sets!

In MVP, Victory or Series 1, I'd like to see an insert set with every member of the Stanley Cup winning team from the season before holding the Cup, and then a checklist featuring the team celebration photo.

Power Play has the Cup Celebrations cards, but I think it would be way cooler to have the team from the year before featured, and all the players.

I've been thinking about this since yesterday afternoon... I switched on the NHL network and saw a game 7 cup match between the Habs and Nordiques... Mario Gosselin vs. Steve Penney... oh man, that brought back memories. And I thought "hey, it'd be neat to see a set or subset of decent goalies that were never superstars", like Gosselin, Penney, Wamsley, Sevigny, etc... there's very few cards of these guys outside of OPC / Topps. And you could add probably a hundred other guys to it! John Garrett, Jacques Cloutier, Bunny Laraque, etc... I'd LOVE to see a BTP Backups or something! ;)

I would LOVE to see continuations to the following products:

Topps Heritage - Specifically, I would like to see current players in the 1971-72 and 1986-87 OPC designs.

Parkhurst Original 6 - Especially the Leafs :D . This would be a great set to do periodically, perhaps every 5 years so there isn't too much overlap and gives a chance for the list of stars and rookies to grow for each team. A new Leaf set could have Gilmour GU and autos -- since he was missing from the last set.

Of course, both suggestions above require a license.... but that gives more time for ITG and Topps to prepare a fantastic design for the post-monopoly era.

I may be in the minority, but I'm a fan of the BAP All-Star set from 02-03 (probably just me and Chance!). I'd love to see an All-Star set that:

a) has more than 100 A-S cards in it
b) does not have multiple cards per player
c) does not have Rookies in it, unless they happened to have played in the A-S game (which means the set would be a late season release)

Bring back the A-S Ticket cards, too. Maybe throw in an A-S puck (just from the event, not game-used).

I would really like to see a set with no short printed RCs, no jerseys. and more than just the same old people that you see in every set!

I like leafschik's idea with the Stanley Cup cards, that way every one that wins would have their own card. It use to mean something when you made the majors and saw your first picture on cardboard!

An AS history set that would feature all the "lesser" names as well would be awesome.

Tricia's Cup celebrations idea is excellent. I'd be all over a set like that (I know Barrie would too ;)).

a set where all people who won an individual trophy (Vezina,Crozier, president, Hart ....) have a card in the set, can be an easy subset to do and you're sure to have stars, RC, goalies .....

I'd love to see a full set of GU jersey, patches, and autos. that are all mixed up! it would be fun to try to guess what jersey swatch belonged to who, and who's patch is really on the card you pulled? It would also promote trading among collectors, they could swap sticker autos. for ones they need for their cards with other collectors or swap jersey and patches!! :)
