From the Other sites magazine, Sweet Shot is a higher end product below the cup and Ultimate but higher than the same version in other sports. I see it as a cheapre version of the cup. I have not purchased any tins but have picked up some singles. I am undecided whether to buy any tins.

I am leaning for a pass on this product as Ulitmate is right around the corner. I do like the signature sticks but once again a gambling product if you are not buying cases. The rookis seem to be jersey only and most one color (of those i have seen on the bay.

WHat do you guys /gals think?

I see it as decent return for the value. You know you're getting a jersey rc, veteran jersey and a interesting design auto for your money. There's the definite lack of filler in this product unlike some releases that flood you with base cards numbered parallels. The base set, even though unnumbered would be a challenge to create.

I agree, Ultimate will showcase nicer jersey cards and great patches, but you'll be paying 3-4 times for a similarly seeded pack.

From what I've seen so far, color me unimpressed with Sweet Shot.

The only cards that I think are very well done are the Signature Shots Stick Signings /25 (in the shape of the hockey stick blade). I realize those aren't game used, but the signatures on those came out very sharp... which is what an autograph card is supposed to be.

Wow, from what I've seen its GOD-AWFUL. Absolutely Brutal to be honest... you don't get anything! $5 jersey cards and $5-10 autos and how much are you paying for a tin?

I agree with Jay. The only impressive stuff is the signature stick/equipment cards. If you don't get one of those, your hard pressed to make back your tin. Look at how many "dead tins" there are. May as well light a hundred dollar bill on fire...

Get out of my head!!!

That was my impression when I was looking through all the breaks. Tins are so expensive and your pulling another rookie jersey. They have rookie jerseys in almost every set. They are probably photoshoot to boot!

You get a common jersey as well. We all know jerseys don't sell anymore. Even superstar players have trouble passing the $30 mark.

The autos look nice but again the majority are of players who sell in the the under $20 range.

Unless your lucky to get a big hit your out a lot of money!

The majority of boxes will yield $30 of resale value. But hey the cards look nice:D

I agree! People always say opening boxes is like gambling at the casino and I think thats true to an extent.

To be perfectly honest though, products like Sweet Shot give you worse odds then the casino. You probably have a 5-10% chance of opening a tin and doubling your money. Go take your $100, play roulette and put it on black. At least you have a 50% chance to double your money.

its more %40 since there are 0 and 00 :p

I will wait till the singles drop in price to pick up what i want.

That is too bad that only a few of the tins from a case are worth opening as it will deter those who only buy a few boxes from buying as the chance they are terrible is high. THere will always be the gamblers.
It makes me wonder why they box them as single tins, why not make them doubles or triples and increase the price accordingly to increase the odds.

In todays world where there are soooo many ways to spend disposable income products should have some guarenteed return. I know they are stuck in a tough spot as not every box can not contain a crosby etc as this happened in the 90s and we all know what those are worth. FOr 80-100 for a pack you should get something. It all comes down to money, more product more sales thus you cant put the high end autos in every box thus they get Doug Weights of the world for less so stick them in.
enough said i will pass on this product.

my 2 cent s

The price point right now is too high for what you can get, sure there are some hits but it seems each case has about 5-7 good tins and the rest are Boyes, Cammaleri, and Raycroft.. The Signature Sticks and Endorsed Equipment are Uber cool.. The Ice signings are auto are decent as well but for me I am sticking to singles on this stuff. I'd rather bust some Ultimate... Just my 3 cents

I have to agree with the overall opinion at this point. There is some nice stuff in Sweet Shot but it is overpriced. There are too many scrub autos and the rookies are very bland. Obviously the jerseys don't do well as the market has been flooded with them over the years. It's too bad because the stick/equipment and ice autos are really nice. Maybe they shoulda passed on making this product and put those inserts in Ultimate...

I really wanted to like this product - it's the one product I have been looking forward to this year - but I can't see opening any at the current price point based on the content I have seen thus far. I'll definitely pick up some autos on the secondary market (cool lookin' stuff!), but I'm not sure that I have the strength to absorb the body blows if the tins I were to open resemble some of the openings I have read about and seen.

Chris (Alamo) makes a good point about the disparity in "quantity and quality" when compared to Ultimate. Both brands are pricey and will surely yield more than their fair share of dog packs and boxes. For GU he is right on the money, but for your RC "dollar" the Ultimate brand will sustain value while the SS cards appear to be a bit on the ugly side and merely an afterthought to the GU memorabilia in the set.
