We all know that there are a bunch of 4th liner/goons who can barely skate, but still are in the NHL. I want to know your top 3 players who actually get ice time, yet should have been cut years ago.

#1. Manny Malholtra - Seriously. Really?
#2. Chris Gratton
#3. Chad Kilger

Runner Up: Richard Zednick.

Hopefully this doesnt cause as much of a stir as my Brett Hull is a fatso post.

Rico Fata. He's a fast skater, but he might be the worst NHLer ever. And I don't know if he even plays anymore, but Scott Parker. How the hell was this guy a 1st round pick (1998)?????

Fata moved on a couple years ago.

Chris:

Hatcher made sense for a few years, and isn't THE worst D-man in the world. He also captained the Stars to a cup.

I understand your frustration, but he has had a heck of a career.

Patrick Stefan.....or did he retire after?

Didn't Hatcher get all the major D assignments in the 2008 playoffs?

A few years ago I made a comment to an NHL goaltender about how terrible Frankie Leroux looked against Stephane Richer. Richer blew around him, and made him look like a joke. All true.

The former NHL goaltender just said:

"Not a bad guy to be beaten by."

As in, Richer is a helluva player who has done it to many. Frankie Leroux still sucks though.

It helps to not be a human pylon...

What's wrong with Zednik being in the NHL? Other than getting sliced up like a horror movie, Zednik is a good 2nd or 3rd line winger with scoring upside. The guy has had to go through a lot of freak incidents in his career.

I can think of a hundred players before Zednik who shouldn't be in the NHL.

Jamie Lundmark (though he's a year removed)
Jeff Friesen (Hang them up!)
Teppo Numminen (After multiple surgeries, is his heart still in it?)

Honorable Mention: Chris Chelios

1) Anders Eriksson
2) Anders Eriksson
3) Anders Eriksson

If the Flyers wanted to eat some of Hatcher's salary I'm sure Sutter would be happy with a straight-up deal.

Burner:

It wasn't because of the freak accident on the list. I am glad he is okay. I think he is ****e. Awesome practice player, terrible gamer. Terrible.

Alot of the players listed in this thread are ok NHL players. No they are not stars but they deserve to be in the NHL. Brian McCabe, come on guys he is hated but he certainly deserves to be in the NHL. Havlat is another one.

Oh I wasn't using it as an argument for or against him. I just think there are at least 100 players that don't deserve to be in the NHL before Zednik.

I think his problem is that he's played on some really crap teams (including some Montreal teams) and was playing a role on the 1st line he wasn't meant to be in.

And his wife is super hot!!!

1. Derian Hatcher - He has been a pylon since the lockout.
2. Andy Wozniewski - Did someone seriously sign this guy?
3. Anders Eriksson - He was horrible 8 years ago, and he is no better today.

Some of the guys mentioned in this thread are certainly overrated, but it's hard to say that McCabe, Havlat, Kilger, Ponikarovsky couldn't fill some sort of useful role.

I will go with:

Eric Boulton
Doug Weight
Luke Richardson

Not a fan of seeing any of them. I was actually going to go to some Islanders games this year until Weight signed...
