05-06 the cup sidney crosby /99 what a steal

Surprised the seller put such a low bin on it seeing that he sells hockey stuff....

I read the description and it is amazing that a card could go straight from a tin to Beckett for grading and end up a 7. The card must have been stepped on a couple of times during pack-out! Brutal.

Crosby also had his dirty hands all over it, lol.

As well as the rep and who know who else.

6.5 on the corners, must be a pretty dinged up card.

Sick steal! I would crack that baby out of the case anyway if it weren't a BGS 9 or better.

Sellers probably gotten a bunch of messages saying they sold it for too low. Lets see if it goes through or if the seller re-lists it for a higher price.

I think it went right where it should have for a 7... nothing to stop the seller from breaking it from the slab and selling it in a year though for probably a good profit to someone that doesn't know better... Can even list it as Near Mint or better and many people won't even think about it.

Not a chance. A 6.5 corner means it's dinged pretty bad. The seller would have to describe that in his listing or risk a pretty big PP claim

That seller is my LCS and they're good people. They wouldn't pull that kind of stunt.

Also, that card is more than likely consigned so that $5000 is the seller's full asking price and I'm sure he's happy to get what he asked for.

dam ,just cant figure how someone would take 4500, when he could of got 12,000+ for it , o well i guess that LCS dose not know the market of crosby 99ers ,

some lucky soul just robbed that guy

too sad

C'mon guys seriously, if you really have 12k to spend on a Crosby /99 do you really think you would spend it on a seriously damaged card??? I wouldnt, I say $4500 was fair market value. I would rather spend 20K for one in good condition than a BGS 7 for 12K. But yes, if you take it out of the slab and dishonestly market it as a nm-mt card you would make money!! Hooray for this honest LCS!!

crosby are super rare, cause of the hoarding in this hobby, especially a 2 clr , and yes i have talk to few guys and they would of spend 12k for it, including my self , ya maybe 8 years ago that was fair price , not any more bud , ya that will be broken out of the slab for sure

Only my opinion

No way I would spend that kind of cash on a card that has that much damage to it. Sorry but if people are going to piss away $12K for a modern era card damaged to that extent then they should have their heads examined. If you have that kind of cash to throw around wouldn't the wise investment be to hold out for a card in better condition and pay more for it? Vintage or pre-war era cards are a different story.

I actually think it was slightly undervalued, not a steal. A card with 6.5 corners is not one I'd shell out big bucks for... Probably should have sold for about $6000 In My Opinion.
