09-10 BAP RC Redemption Question

I just got 8 of these and punched them into my redemption. Now, do the numbers on the card actually mean anything? For example, here is what one says in my redemption account

2009-10 NHL Be A Player Rookie #9


Do I get the 9th best RC from NEXT year lol..... or is it just a random crap shoot? I know there was quite the riot with last years, so I am just curious is anyone knows anything. Thanks!

I think it's a crapshoot more than anything Clay, especially since "best" ends up being such a relative term when all positions are involved and it's not really certain how you'd qualify "best" under those circumstances. You never know whether they're going to do it alphabetically, or by draft position, or by rank, or by team, or color of hair, or favorite type of pasta. There doesn't seem to be a sense of consistency unless they tell you outright which team the redemption is for (ala Artifacts) and even that at best is second guessing (like Kane and Toews in their rookie year where I think Toews ended up the Chicago rookie and Kane was a wild card.)
 
Thanks guys.... I see that the first couple in the set (RED301,302,303) are selling for a lot more money. Obviously people are banking on those being the best 3 players in the set. I guess I will continue to stock up on the cheaper ones and see what happens. I would hate to pay 50$ for a redemption, and then end up getting a $2 card. I guess that is fairly common these days though.....

It doesn't surprise me. Artifacts has set a precedence by seeding the best Wild Cards in descending order, while Fleer Ultra can go either way -- Malkin I believe was the last redemption in his year, while Stamkos was the first in his.

It's usually a seller's market for these types of cards because you never know who will end up where, and buyers assume the risk of paying $50 for the first or second redemption numbered after the set, only to end up with a plug that filled in only because the 24 guys ahead of him the depth chart were injured, sick or on the other side of the country.
 
The BAP redemptions are definitely a seller's market. There are only a handful of the redeemed cards that sell for more than $5-$15, yet ahead of time, almost everything sells for two to three times that value.

I picked up 8 different ones for 30$, with the codes emailed to me. At less than 4$ a pop, I figured why the heck not.
 
This year, with the messup, My registered as, Rookie Redemption #1, which struck me suprising, because it was supposed to be Cal O'Reilly, but then Johnny T showed up, My redemptions went by the number, Im sure they wont this time though
