I always been curious about that product. I wasn't in the hobby at that time and I never seen much cards from that set.
I found was I thought was a correct deal on ebay, at 20$Can delivered for a blaster, so I decided to try it.

I'm surprised that the product wasn't more successful, the cards are very shiny, these base cards are nicer that many inserts from other products.
 
Nice to see that you got an SE.

The tiered system that is set up can be very confusing. There was a lot going on in this set. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but very confusing. The die-cut on some of the cards were hit or miss sometimes, also. The price point back in the day was a little high for a set that only had parallels. It was always a fun break for me.

98-99 was a good year as SPA came out with a larger SOTT list, parallels, buy-backs, Authentic auto'd gear redemptions. UD base set had some great insert chase cards. SPx Finite & SPx Top Prospects also came out that year. I think it got lost in the mix. You also have to toss into the mix that Pacific & Topps were still in the mix pretty good with multiple sets.

SPx Finite & SPx Top Prospects are 2 other products that we never see cards from.
 
Looks like you had a lot of fun with this break -- awesome stuff. I still have one Osgood from this set I've been trying to track down for nearly 2 decades now. I saw one come up on eBay in 2005 but internet was spotty back then and I missed out on sniping it. Maybe some day it will show up in a break just like this one right? :)

Card #171 Die Cut is numbered /100, so you'd think there would be plenty floating around, but since I've been tracking them on eBay (15 years), I've only ever seen that one come up in 2005.

I'm all for the thrill of the chase, but..... c'mon! :duh:

Stuff /100 from that era is hard. Just think of the Starquest Gold and Prime Choice Reserve from UD Choice.

That's true, but I've seen over 20 prime choice reserve Osgoods /100 on eBay in that time. Just like the 2006-07 Fleer Ultra Fresh Ink card -- plenty of 2007-08 ones, but the year before? Only one has ever turned up on eBay. I know that one was SP, but damn! :p

Maybe there are cases and cases of UD3 still sealed in warehouses?

Just to check, I did a search of completed UD3 /100 cards, and 9 showed up in the last 3 months. With 60 different cards printed /100, that's 6000 of those floating around out there, so 0.15% showed up in the last 3 months. I'd say that is pretty damn few of them looking to be sold!
