#1 NHL Draft Pick when you were 18 years old...

I turned 18 in september of 1992 so the 1993 draft was the actual draft when i was 18.....either way I get Roman Hamrlik or Alexandre Daigle......I had stopped collecting at 15 for about 18 years so didnt have to worry about dumping all my money into these two duds :)

Born in 1956, I was 18 in 1974... the unforgettable Greg Joly.
Poor guy... was a -69 for the Caps in his rookie year, a team with a 8-67-5 record and a goal differential of 181-446.
Overall a very shallow first round IMO. Even my Leafs chose Jack Valiquette.

I may be the oldest board member so let me just say the year I was born there was NO draft! Draft didn't start until I believe 13 years later.

I was born in 1950 Bought my first pack of cards in 1959. Packs were 5 cents a pack.

You might say, things have changed just a little bit since then.

RON, we might be TWINS since I also have a 1950 birthday:rock:!
When, in 1968, the Canadiens still had the rights to the first TWO born in Quebec players and they Michel Plasse. the other guy is WHOever like the rest of that DRAFT year from a GOOGLE search.

My team at the time drafted a kid name Bobby Clarke. He was not 18.

DRAFT year 1969 and Bobby Clarke was a second round pick ahead of someone (Bob Currier) I know very well who was their #1 pick. Bob played in the AHL but injuries ended his career without playing a single in the NHL.
