Versus did a top 10 All Time NHL Fighter list. Here is the Link

I thought it was pretty good. As with any top 10 list there were some names left out but I like the addition of Steve Durbano. Someone I really didnt know much about. Probably cause I was born in 79 and that was the year of the fight in the linked video.

awesome list, but I'm surprised wendel didn't make even the honorable mention, he used to throw down all the time & with gusto

durbano was a nutcase. both off and on the ice. Got caught up in some really bad stuff (prostitution ring, drugs, etc.)

Based on fight cards, durability, win/loss, ability... how about this list:

Bob Probert
Behn Wilson
Dave Brown
Clark Gillies
Nick Fotiu
Joe Kocur
Dave Semenko
Donald Brashear
Larry Playfair
Glenn Cochrane
Stan Jonathan

And, yes, Donald Brashear is in any top ten all-time list.

Great thread. Interesting top ten. But some of those names won't mean anything unless you grew up during the era in which those certain players played. I'd list top tens for each decade, or something to that effect. But I would have included a couple more names - 1) Troy Crowder; 2) Gino Odjick. Those two were crazy brawlers.

I was 5 or 6 but every Saturday night was hockey at home. I seem to remember Stan Mikita in his first couple of years in the NHL was penalty leader - he had to be to survive. When he came from Czechoslovakia (sp.) he says he feared for his life.

Agree 100%. Especially after the time he cried crocodile tears and begged the ref to not let Clarke Gillies hit him again.......as per Ray Scapinello. True story.....

I think you and Bert need CAT Scans

if your gonna give probert #1, you have to have stu grimson on there!!!
they didnt call him the grim reaper for nothing, and in proberts glory days grimson was a close second. (as far as i can remember they were the two most feared guys in the league)

p.s. honourable mention IMO to ryan vandenbusche(excuse the spelling)
just because he was nice enough to end nick kypreos's career....
that was the baddest scrap i ever saw(one punch career ending KO)
