So, I started out by picking up the Iginla Base from Black Diamond, and I had no intentions of chasing all the other parallels at the time...
Shortly after, the sapphire 1/1 showed up on eBay and I just couldn't let that one get away! Once you get the 1/1, then the greediness factor steps in and you begin to think maybe I should get the rest! So I decided to go for the rainbow! Might be a common problem amongst us player collectors, just a little bit more and then I'll be content! Never!!! So I easily scooped up the Orange parallel and all needed was the Emerald /10 and the Ruby /50. It took over a year to pick up the Emerald /10, and for some reason the Ruby /50 just wasn't showing up on eBay anymore. I know a bunch made their rounds when the product came out, but it's funny how the parallels with more copies often haunt me.
Just a few days ago I met up with Al (Uhtred the Viking), another Iginla collector, and he mentioned he had a copy of the Black Diamond Ruby! He was willing to trade his only copy of the card so I could finish the rainbow! A very nice gesture, and I'm pretty thrilled to have them all together now!
It'a been really cool how we both have been able to collect Iginla and not be in competition. It's one of those things that makes the hobby so much more enjoyable!

Anyways, enough talking! Here's the shiny goodies!

It's always a good day when you can put a rainbow together, looks sharp!

I'm guilty of this as well.

Totally agree about dropping the competition factor down, and thanks for all of your help as well! I've been through the bidding wars era many years ago, not very enjoyable at all. Always better to have someone to share your collecting interests with.

Thanks guys! I agree it's a pretty sharp looking set with all the colorful parallels!
No doubt Al, there would have been some big bidding wars when Iginla was in his prime!
