1966-67 Topps Reprint?

I just purchased a lot of vintage cards and in it were a couple 1966-67 Topps cards that are seemingly perfect: sharp corners and edges and not the typical jagged edges you get from wire cutting in those older cards. Also the card stock is very thin, almost identical to the UD 20th Anniversary cards inserted in 2010-11.

Pretty sure they're fake, but I need to know for sure before I sell/trade them.

Here's a scan of the card... as you can see, corners are perfectly straight, like it was cut with a precise tool, not a wire. Also, as mentioned above, the card stock is super thin, very similar to the thinness and very flimsy like the 20th anniversary UD cards from 2010-11 Series 1 & 2.

Also, I compared the back side of the card to other older cards I have from the 70s and this one seems a little smother and glossier compared to the relatively rough surface to the originals I have from the same era.

thoughts? Seller said that he had purchased it in a bigger lot (everyone says that) from a collector who didn't have anything newer than 1982 cards in his collection so he's kind of dumbfounded that there may be a new reprint in there. Either way, he's offered a refund so I just want to make sure this is real before I return in.

Do you have a scan of the back? I think Topps Heritage did some 66-67 reprints for 02-03...could that be it?

It isn't those. Even on those "reprints" the Topps Heritage logo is visible on the front. Those were insert cards, so its not everyone that was available either. On the back of those, its similar to other Topps reprints, where there is a section on the bottom with the insert number...

Is that a high resolution scan of the card? If it is, it's definitely a fake - the originals are pressed from colour printing plates. The colours, lines, etc would be solid. You can see pixelation in your scan which, if it's the way the card looks in real life, suggests it was scanned at low resolution and/ or printed on a low quality printer.

If it is just your scanner, then I would still suggest from your description of the card stock it is fake - with what intentions it was produced, who knows, but it can't be real.

And no, I'm not an expert - just my opinion.
