Okay, quick question to anyone who might remember the 90s better than me....

1994-95 Score. You pulled one Gold Line per pack. I'm not sure exactly how the redemption program worked, but (basically) you sent in a team set of Gold Cards, and they'd send you back your Gold Cards but "punched" and they also set you a Platinum version of the team set. Team sets came in a Pinnacle Case, and a certificate of authenticity: They were limited to 1994 (or was it 1995?) copies.

My understanding is that the Canadian & American WJC cards were not made as Platinums, and neither were the Team Checklists. Checklists, I guess it makes sense, since the cards were double sided.

However, I recently came across this card (see both sides):

Seems it does exist, but I can't find any info anywhere that tells me where this would have come from. Anyone want to clue me in?

I remember putting together the Philadelphia Flyers set back in the day to redeem for the platinum version (/1994). I don't recall the checklist being part of the platinum set. I also remember Score stating the WJC cards weren't part of the program. In the late 90s or early 00s someone had most, if not all, of the WJC platinum cards listed on ebay and I think was advertising them as 1/1. I don't think I've seen any of those cards since.

I talked to a guy recently that claimed to have the WJC cards (didn't show me a picture, I didn't ask). Big Team Canada collector. We got talking because he was looking for a Ranford from International Ice..... just saying, it's not the first time I've heard of the WJC cards being made (so there probably are a few copies floating around).

I would ask "finlandblack39" if no one else knows. He is the Score master collector

Will definitely drop him a line. Thanks!

I haven't any information on those cards but I have heard those 1994-95 score platinum wjc cards/checklist. I don't know where come from but I think cards are 1/1. One Finnish todd harvey collector have listed to 1994-95 score platinum #204 1/1 to him wantlist...

I don't think 1/1s, since I have two copies of it, lol.

I got them cheap, I did not think they were "supposed" to exist, which is why I snapped up both.

I'm glad someone else is at least confirming for me that they are rare, and not something that was part of the promotion.

There were 1994 sets made and they did not include checklists or WJC cards. I put together the entire set, still have it. I would imagine they used the same plates to print the platinum sets, so the checklists and WJC cards were probably made but not issued. Sounds like someone came accross them somewhere and they're trickling out...
