Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I have picked up any comics. So over the past couple months I have stopped by a few garage sales and at the local Vancouver comic show and with the help of some HI members I was able to land the last comic in the thread.

Anyway, not too much tell... let's get to the show.

Enjoy!

First off... just for reading purposes....

Wolverine: Save the Tiger #1

Next is a comic I have wanted a while now that I was able to pick at one of the show for a shinny dollar :)

Tomb Raider #1

At one garage sale, I picked up these two comics for $1 each

Incredible Hulk #400

Superman #240

Next, some x-men back issues. It may be the fact that I have been out of the comic scene, but I was shocked to pick up these three for the prices that I did.

X-men #283 (1st full appearance of Bishop)

X-men #281(1st appearance of Trevor Fitzroy & new team)

X-men 54 (1st appearance of Alex Summers)

Lastly, my very first graded comic pick ups...

First... I remember this comic being huge back in the day. I now have it in my collection for a very reasonable price...

X-files #1

And my biggest comic ever... and like I mentioned, with the help of some members...

Giant Size X-men #1(first appearance of Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus & Thunderbird)

Thanks for the look!

man those old X-men take me back :)

Also any comic with a 12c price tag is just fine by me :)

Great pickups. I love picking up comics like the Xfiles that were once crazy expensive and hard to find for now reasonable prices. Congrats

Very nice... I just re-read my copy of X-Files #1 after making a random grab of books out of my storage boxes. Glad to know there are others out there with similar interests! And old enough to remember when X-Files was big! lol

Cory, Yup, unfortunately old enough to remember! haha. And it wasn't just "big"... it was HUGE! The thing to watch on Sunday night!

You still actively collecting comics?

Not actively collecting - I always bought them for the stories, and never threw anything away of course... So they all sit in comic bags with backers in my closet. I've got six or seven monster boxes of stuff that I just pull books out of at random from time to time to read. I also have a subscription to Marvel Unlimited that lets me read any of their digitized, online archives for $70 a year. That feeds my comic reading habit.

Cool Cory. I just head to the library and pick up some trade paper backs and that usually is good enough for me. I'm just reading some classic x-men right now. Fun stuff! :D

I get my stepson to check the graphic novels out of the library for me so that the librarian doesn't give me that "What is a 40 year old man doing reading comics?" look...

:)
