2 box break 10/11 ITG BTP

Well here's the pictures, I did "ok"....but I feel compared to other years of pipes, this year kinda stinks....sorry Brian....

I feel there's just to many regular jersey cards, as the print runs keeping creeping higher and the good stuff becomes more and more tough to pull. plus alot of one colour swatches in this release....time will tell.

I own a card shop and I've seen more of it opened already.....sure there's some nice hits...but it's way to watered down like H+P was this year....

In 2 boxes you got 5 Autos, 3 regular jersey cards, 1 dual Jersey card and you are complaining. Not every box will have a low print run card. I think you did pretty good. Nothing huge but definitely got more in 2 boxes than you would get in other products. but thats just my opinion.

Well collectors want more hits, so I put in more hits.

I haven't raised the price of H&P in four years (wholesale price that is).

So not sure if getting more hits makes a product more watered down.

But always willing to listen.

You make a good point Brian, you have greatly increased the hits per box. But compared to 08/09 & 09/10 ITG BTP this years product does lack in the name player department, and there's far more common jerseys then there was in the past 2 years releases.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not complaining about MY break...I'm fine with my break. I was just giving my personal review since I've seen a fair share opened already today.

I've opened close to 100 boxes of 09/10 BTP and over 100 boxes of 09/10 H+P just for me personally....and compared to my averages last year for both releases...this years stuff has alot more common jerseys...ALOT....just look at the print runs and they amount of players on the checklist. speaks for itself.

It's a great product and I'm sure many will enjoy it. It's just not for me this year that's all.

Geoff is not complaining at all. I too am a huge BTP fan, thus opening alot of boxes since 06-07. 06-07 is my favorite, but after looking at some of the cards, i too feel its not as good as 08-09 or 09-10, but i do think its better than 07-08. im still going to buy it because i love the series and am a fan of ITG. In fact, i have 7 boxes that ill open on tuesday and 1 box that nick2317 is going to open for me today. I feel that it looks too much like H&P and not enough like BTP, which should be different as it has in past years. for some of us, the number of "hits" doesnt always equal a good product. it needs to have that WOW factor, which some of us feel is not there "yet" we will see as more and more are opened. 06-07 only had 2-3 hits in the box, but it has always made me say WOW. so everyone has their own opinions, there is no right or wrong. i should have my scans tuesday
 
Certainly anyone who buys the product has a right to their opinion, they paid to have one and I respect it.

A lot went into this product and it bothers me to hear that some are disappointed.

There is only so much you can do when you have a set that is only goalies... Unless you are a diehard goalie lover this product isn't going to satisfy. I don't really like the design of much of this stuff. It looks.. old.. I guess..That's the only way I can really describe it.

I want to see some new graphic designers come on board with ITG or something. The designs are a huge reason why I don't collect ITG cards. I just don't even like the look of many of them. Let's spruce this stuff up a little bit. I don't want to sound harsh but this is a big complaint of mine. I love the idea of ITG and what they do but rarely, and I mean rarely do I bother to collect it since it just doesn't appeal to me.

Dr. Price I would like to see some new designs. It feels like too much gimmick and not enough "design" here.
 
UPDATE:

opened another box of BTP today....and boy was it exciting!!!

Couple packs in a hit a Giguere jersey card....and I called the rest of the box card for card!

I'm done with BTP....man I hope they fix it next year...because I'm not paying $100 a box to pull Giguere hot boxes every other time....major let down this year ITG.....

I totally agree with you on this years Pipes.I have opened a full case and a few loose boxes. best card in case was an Hextall card out of 6.Not one auto /game used card in my case.
There were a ton black jerseys and no name autos.
I love the Pipes but not this year .
 
Sorry to hear that some of you are unhappy with this year's Pipes.

If you look at the autograph checklist this year we just about got every goalie in the product. What name goalies are missing?

We saw over 400 boxes opened at the Spring Expo last week and collectors seemed to be satisfied.

Let's turn this into something positive, next yeear is the 10th Anniversary of Pipes, how do you think we can make it better.

The black jerseys are out of 120 while products of my competitors have jersey cards out of more than double that number, with swatches 1/2 the size. They don't seem to be criticized.

Always looking for better ways to make our products, especially one of our oldest brands, Pipes.

I am all ears for constructive comments and for those of did enjoy the product, here is the place to share that information with others.

Further to our emails on this Pipes product, I want to thank you for all you do for this great hobby.I love your products and creativity and your quick response.This years Pipes just didn't cut it for me compared to previous years.I opened a sealed 10 box case at my local card shop.Yes there were a lot of jerseys with big swatches and autos,and I understand the gamble with cracking wax.But when the best card you pull is a Hextall number out of 6 in a case something is wrong.Where are the older guys pieces?where are the pad, and glove cards of existing goalies,besides 1/1's.

I hope the 10th anniversary pipes will bring back the unique pads,sticks and glove pieces that made me open and love this product.
