10 years later, I have finally put this one to bed! A classic design from the 1966-67 Topps set that was so nice they decided to honour it for this Heritage Set.

I recently won this card

It is the first copy I have EVER seen! There is no official print run for the Patch version, but the original odds were something like 1:1550!! I would guestimate these are less than /10. Perhaps /5?!?!? Or less?!?!? :dizzy:

Now, I hate to add an asterix* to this Master Set, but Topps Heritage also included 1/1 Buy Backs from the original set -- in this case 1966/67 Topps. However, the buybacks for 2002-03 where pack inserted without any stamp or other identifying mark. So I will go with the claim that this is a Master Set of all cards produced for this specific product.

I haven't scanned the base or basic inserts, but here are the rest of the subsets that make up the Master Set!
Enjoy! :corn:

Not sure why Topps didn't include all players in both Jersey and Patch versions of the subsets. But according to the checklist, these are complete.

Now I just need a sealed box. At least the Hobby version, and perhaps retail???

Stay tuned, there may be yet one more Master Set completion coming soon.... :giggity:

umm wow! That set got me back into collecting & I'm slowly picking away at the chrome set from $1 bins :) Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely amazing, I was a huge fan of every set Topps released. Especially their three years of Topps Heritage. If you don't mind me asking, what's the next set you're almost done with?

thats crazy!

now i can ask a question ive been wondering forever,

how rare are those crease piece patches? i have only seen MAYBE 5 or under of the cloutier copy since that product was released. i own a copy, but its been atleast 5 years since i saw another copy. how limited are those cards do you know?

Sweet! Great Job! The only cards that've seen from that set were the the easier inserts (non-auto/mem), the chrome, and Weiss's auto blue.
I never saw the sell sheet!
Thanks for sharing.

I am one card (Dual Arena Relic Autos: Bucyk/H. Richard /25) away from the 2001-02 Topps Heritage set. It was eBay and ended earlier tonite but I was not the winner :| Looks like someone else is working on the master set and threw $200+ against each of the dual autos the seller had listed! I need it, but not that bad. Plus, gives me a reason to continue my daily "topps heritage" hockey searches on eBay

I've tried to find the official insert ratios online with no luck. The best I've found is the following on DA Cardworld for their box sales:

Combined Auto/Relic ratio is 1:12
1966-67 Vintage Buy Back cards - 132 total cards - 1:1687
Autographs Blue Ink 1:55
Autographs Black Ink 1:155
Autographs Red Ink 1:495
Calder Cloth Relics Group A 1:1160 (Drury, Brodeur, Forsberg, Samsonov)
Calder Cloth Relics Group B 1:217 (Leetch, Alfredsson, Heatley, Gomez)
Calder Cloth Relics Patches 1:2774
Crease Piece Relics 1:39
Crease Piece Relics Patches 1:775
Great Skates Relics 1:50
Great Skates Relics Patches 1:1550
1966-67 Maple Leaf Reprints 1:8
1966-67 Maple Leafs Reprints Autographs 1:139
Maple Leaf Gardens Reprint Relics 1:127

They seem reasonable.
Now, for a little math using the Buyback inserts and the above ratio:
132 66-67 Buybacks (1/1's) at a ratio of 1:1687 = 222,684 total packs produced.

Crease Piece Patch ratio (1:775)
222,684/775 = 287 total Crease Piece Patches.
9 cards in the subset => 287/9 = 32 copies per card

~30 copies of those cards seem pretty high. I would have thought more like 20 copies at most.

I think since the cards are not serial numbered, people may not realize what they have, and may explain why they rarely come up for auction now. They may be buried away in common boxes, especially since many of the players in these subsets are not exaxtly the darlings of the hobby.

Ohhh man, sweet set! They look great all together.

I reaalllyyy like the look of those 67 Maple Leafs relic cards, you may have just started a new mini set for me! Damn you! :foottap: Hahaha

AWESOME!!!!

Wow. Just fricken wow.

That is a great set and must have been both exciting and painfully frustrating waiting for your cards. This makes me want to work on another Master set.

It would be nice to be able to locate a sell sheet for my 00/01 UD Vintage set....have one hanging around? And I never thought of getting unopened boxes. Gawd! that would kill me to not open up the box. At least I wouldn't worry about there being any redemption cards.

Thanks for the show.
