I'm trying to track down the two Osgood Tall Boy cards from 2002-03 UD Vintage (regular & gold). What boxes did these come in..? Were they inserts in the regular UD Vintage boxes or did they have their own product? I've seen a few boxes on eBay, but the descriptions don't mention the Tall Boy cards at all..?

Anyone have any idea? :)

Cheers,

Mike

So this was like a box-topper then? I can't imagine it would come in a pack, seeing as they were obviously larger than the regular cards!

I'm pretty sure it was in a pack, but in the box so yes it was a box topper.

well i remember seing those box for sale for only 25 $ cdn at a show, not a bad price, but your right does not make much sens for you to buy them, good luck finding your card

They did in fact comein topper packs. I believe there was 2 in each. One thing to watch out for though is that they were only in hobby boxes, not retail.

Thanks for the expertise, guys! Considering I ONLY need the Tall Boys (regular AND gold) from 02/03 Vintage for my Osgood collection, I guess I'll keep watching and see what pops up on the boards or eBay for now.. my luck ain't THAT good.. ;) Then again, might make some good trade bait too, so ya never know! :)

Cheers,

Mike

The guys are correct. The Tall Boys came in a separate cellophane wrapper in hobby boxes; each pack I opened featured one regular and one gold/99.
Unfortunately, I didn't get an Osgood for you (I have a Shanahan and Nabokov in the regulars and a Heatley and Klesla in the golds).

I agree, it was a great product. All 3 years of the Upper Decks Vintage and the Topps Heritage were great products, on old-style cardboard stock and vintage designs.

Thanks for the info, Michael.. nice to know that each box game with a gold card, so maybe the Osgoods are still out there waiting to be broken..? A guy can dream.. lol

I definitely agree that Vintage/Heritage was a great idea.. Definitely connects the history of hockey for those of us who are interested in the older cards too.. :)

They were indeed box-toppers and the golds were pretty rare. I opened a case or so a few months back and the Golds #/99 fell in about ever 3rd or 4th box. I think I actually pulled an Osgood Gold, but unfortunately I already sold all of them.:( GL tracking them down, they are really cool inserts. Mike

Ahh, very cool.. makes sense that EVERY box wouldn't have a regular AND a gold/99 or else the regulars would have to be out of 99 too, wouldn't they..?

Too bad I didn't come here sooner! Mighta been able to convince you to sell the gold Osgood to me first! :p Any chance the guy you sold it to may be willing to part with it, or did it go out on the 'Bay? Worth a shot anyway.. lol

Cheers, and thanks for the expertise!
