Hope the NHL grants me a Sunday afternoon game, as I'll be on the road Sunday at 8. Won't happen, but I can wish. Also, 8 PM games are garbage. I gotta be up at 5 AM for work, and I gotta stay up till 11 to watch the games?
 
Try living in Atlantic Canada and watching the Habs when they go on their West Coast tour. :)

The back-to-back is a joke. Leave it to the NHL to cave to NBC for that, despite it being the worst deal of all the four major professional sports. But at least they're consistent: scheduling in these playoffs has been absolutely atrocious.

Those times are fine by me. I was just worried that there were to be no Saturday games.Looks like it's going to be a great final
 
I love how games one and two are back-to-back yet between games 5 and 6, games 6 and 7 there are two days off. I really hate how the NHL cowtows to the whims of NBC, a network that obviously does not care on way or the other about the game or the quality of it. So, bet on an afternoon game as the second of the back-to-back, which would suck even more because most of the time afternoon games are played at a lethargic pace. :|

At least it's a rematch, something we haven't seen in a long time.
 
Sunday's game time is still TBD. Per SMW Sports Media Watch...
"If there is a Game 7 between the Nuggets and Lakers, which would air on ABC at 8:30 PM ET, the NHL would reportedly move the start of Game 2 to 7 PM ET, to avoid as much competition with the NBA as possible. If there is no NBA game, Game 2 would begin at 8 PM ET, like the other games in the series."

According to the Sports Media guy at my local newspaper this is the reason for the back to back games:

I like that the NHL moved up the start of the Stanley Cup Finals by six days to tomorrow night (5 p.m., NBC). But why force the teams to play Sunday night as well? Oh, that's right, NBC doesn't want to risk having a game interrupt Conan O'Brien's first week hosting the “Tonight” show. And the NHL is too weak to argue otherwise.

Not sure if he is stating known fact or if it's his opinion, but I definitely buy it.
 
thanks for looking out for the fans buttman and your crew. Why do the fans have to suffer of not knowing what time the game starts, maybe some of us fans may be going to game 2 but have to find a ride, a babysitter, or even host a party, those are just examples. Think of all the canadian fans that are attending the game and have to deal with the border issues .
It may also give an edge to the team who wins game 1.

I don't care about basketball and what their outcome is, if the game of hockey can not be a big market in some cities, then stop trying to promote on NBC.
