2012-13 UD Series I first look -- whatcha think?

We've had our first few boxes of Series I opened in the store and I have to say, it seems like UD is putting plenty of hits in to make this a decent value. The Young Guns are nice, the canvas are strong and in three boxes, the customer got a HG YG (Dumont, I think), a Clear Cut Pride of Canada Toews and a Day With the Cup.

How about you? Thoughts so far?
 
I opened 2 boxes. Got the following:
Jake Allen canvas yg
Derek Stepan patch /15
Elias hg /10
Prout YG exclusives /100

Im not complaining. I like it A lot
 
does anyone know what the odds are on the day with the cup inserts this year? i would love to do the set, but not likely if they are going to sell for the insane prices people are putting them at right now
 
The Young Guns cards remind me of the 09-10 Be A Player RCs, mainly due to the white borders on the left and right sides.

The Requisite Radiance inserts look pretty neat. I also have grown to like the Silver Skates inserts -- I thought the design looked stupid at first, but done up in full foil, it's a total throwback to the way insert sets looked in the mid-90s. On the other hand, it's time to switch something up with the UD Exclusives parallels. They used to be more than just a foil color shift, but now, UD's just pulling a Pacific on us.

There also appears to have been an Upper Deck promo set (with veterans and rookies) produced for Universal Distribution. It has a unique design that doesn't match anything else from UD1. Has anyone seen any information on that new release?
 
It looks like a lot of the four box breaks I have seen on other forums have had three case hits in four boxes. I know that their are three of the regular Khabby 300 win cards on Ebay right now. I have not seen any out of the 10 yet.

So yes, this product looks loaded.
 
What are the odds on the Silver Skates? I bought 5 packs and the only insert that wasn't an MVP base card was a Malkin Silver Skates... and I agree with The Great Zo, they don't look nearly as stupid as they did on the UD sell sheet
 
I'm liking a fair bit of the design and the content. Some good stuff for collectors in there, and it's largely veteran-driven content doing it. When's the last time you could say that about UD1? (2004-05?)
