We just saw a tweet from Universal Distribution that talked about a Connor McDavid Collection Upper Deck is putting out in December. Here is what the tweet said: 2015-16 Connor McDavid Collection by UD in Dec. - 25 cards + a 3 ½ x 8 Commemorative Card per set - 17 Hand-#'d auto c-cards - more soon!

One that will be rolled out in November will feature six cards each of Mr. McDavid and Wayne Gretzky, the former Edmonton superstar with whom he has already been compared. A second offering featuring the Great One and Mr. McDavid will be brought to market in May.

“This is kind of a piece of history,” Mr. Carlin says. “People don’t want to miss out.”

Promotional cards is an entirely different thing. This is an actual high-end release

I was thinking the same thing but UD knows the sheer amount of people who will be thinking with their wallets long before they attempt the same with their brains.

I was reading an article today stating that Crosby's 102 pt rookie season in 05/06 should be the benchmark of success for McDavid's rookie season, while EDM management is forecasting 20G and 20A as a successful season.

If McDavid only scores 40 pts in a season, can you imagine how PO'd collectors will be?

Sorry, but with the amount of hype McDavid is getting, he doesn't just need to top Mac, he needs to blow him out of the water.

Well, 75 points would be the best rookie season since Crosby (adjusted for league scoring) and McDavid is the best prospect since Crosby.

Now, if people really think he's the best since Mario or Wayne that's another story...

There is only 17 hand #'d autos of those C-Cards in the entire print run. They will be very difficult to hit I'm sure.

Is it me or am I the only one that is already tired of the Connor McDavid buzz. It could be all for nothing if he fizzles out or heaven forbid gets a career ending injury in his first season. He could end up being the Ryan Leaf of hockey. Why not wait a few months into the season to produce more stuff and to let people demand more product. There is plenty of stuff out there for collectors to buy right now.
