Would anyone here know, or care to speculate,
why the True RC’s (numbered /1199) have a lower BV
than the much easier to pull Blue variations?

More people are building the blue set maybe?

Personnally, I prefer the true rc /1199. It's nicer visually, it's numbered and it's the true RC. Much harder to pull than the blue RCs too.

Or perhaps Beckett uses a formula that “says” All blues are valued at something more than the regular base card. That works for he commons, but Not for the Rookies. iMHO

Is Beckett even relevant anymore
Sadly. No idea why people even bother with it. There is literally zero basis for the values. None. Not trying to step on anyone's toes, but it just is not a valid pricing method at all.

I use Beckett for relative values. What else can one use, except sold items on eBay.

Exactly. As long as they are equally off on everything, this works well for trading, at least for low to mid-end cards. Clearly they can be way off on higher-end stuff.

And in this case, their relative values are way-off to what ebay sales are telling us (i.e. that the RC /1199 sells for way more than the easier to pull Blues).

So now maybe I am way off here. I do not use e-bay, I do not buy or sell. Trade only.I am on a limited budget. Still like to have some fun in the hobby. But some that can afford to bust a case or cases of product can then use e-bay to sell off what they do not need for a fraction of what something is worth just to move it. Or is this constituting a product true value based on e-bay sales. Perhaps it is. But then I thought Beckett values were based from confirmed sales of individual cards. Which does not seem to be the case. All I know is I trade what appears to be a fair trade, and hope that whom I am trading with feels the same way. To me busting a box or a few boxes is fun, while I hope to land a big hit(not to often) it is fun. And then trade for what I want with what I do not want.
