2020-21 Artifacts Collation issues?

I just opened 2 boxes of the new Artifacts.

Box 1
2 Rookie Redemptions
2 Autofacts
2 Rookie jerseys #/599
2 vet jerseys ( 1 damaged)

Box 2
8 #'d cards

I watched the LCS owner open a box, he pulled 2 Aurum cards, 2 jersey cards, 2 rookie redemptions and 2 patch cards. He tried a 2nd box and pulled the same as my 2nd box, 8 #'d cards.

Hopefully this is not an issue across the entire print run or UD may have a big issue on their hands.
 
Just watched a live break, half the boxes in a case only had inserts and the other half was loaded with hits.

Could be a huge problem with group breaks if breaking less than a case

I hope not but I have a feeling it is going to be hit or miss.

Turns out this inner 10 box case had 5 boxes that all inserts no GU or autos. 3 had 2 rookie redemptions each, 1 had 2 patches and 2 boxes had 2 autos, one of which was mine. The other was much better though, Seguin Aurum auto #/25 and a Dual Aurum auto of Crosby/Malkin #/5.

Personally, I would say that having half your boxes without hits is unacceptable rather than hit or miss. Spending 180$ for 8 numbered cards would be more than frustrating.

I agree, hit or miss in that some cases will be fine and others like this one. If I had opened the entire 10 box case I would have been happy overall. Besides what I noted there was also a Lafreniere Rookie #/75.

I may try another box on the weekend, but if there are more with just #'s cards I may be done with Artifacts.
 
I opened a master case and experienced the same issues. Some boxes had no game used or autos while others seemed more "loaded"
 
I know with UD that many people have emailed or called them when their box didn’t have the specified “hits” per box. I am thinking of SP Authentic with no autos. I am wondering what they are going to do with the 8 numbered cards boxes. I am sure that UD will hear about that collation. Will UD try to make things right or will they tell you the same old story of nothing is guaranteed per box.
 
My box had eight serial numbered cards only.
My LCS owner explained:

There’s a big packaging problem with Artifacts. Most boxes seem to have either double the hits or none. I have cases from 2 distributors and the same issue. I guess Upper Deck is saying there are the correct number of hits per case but basically double or nothing on individual boxes. They are supposed to compensate customers but likely a slow process.
 
I watched a C&C inner case break last night. It all seemed pretty spread out. Only had a dual hit (Gold retro red & reg red), but had a decent mix of hits throughout. Only 3 patches, but also only had 3 Aurums. I you look up the break, it was towards the end of the night and inluded a Matthews /5 a/j/j black in the 2nd half.

I love Artifacts and usually buy a good share of my LCS’s boxes. On a delay this year (car repairs) but plan on getting half an inner. Looking for the patches, which look great, and a nice red, but trying to get the bucket list of pack pulls down. Got a 1/1 last year, but need one of those Esteemed or Honour cards still. Missed M-A F by a few boxes last year.

What I do see, and have experienced a few times in the last few years, are boxes that are missing any RC other than the red.
 
Tried my hand at artifacts today and got the same results many people have had. Grabbed 1 box and 4 loose packs from a fresh box I got to open. I decided to try out the theory that 1 half of the case was loaded while the other side had no hits so I chose my sealed box from one side and the box I opened for packs from the other. My 4 loose packs had 4 hits including a McDavid jersey and Jake Evans Rookie patch auto and my sealed box was...you guessed it....a dud. No hits from my box, all numbered parallels, one being a Bowen Byram Red that had pretty bad chipping and a Bowen Byram regular rookie that literally is so miss cut its laughable.
 
I'm batting 50% as well for boxes with missing hit. Open 4 boxes. Box 1 only had 8 numbered cards. Box 3 was missing 2 hits. Only got a jersey card and rookie redemption. No other Aurum, jersey or relic cards. There was a couple of packs with missing insert or hits as well. QC definitely not good.
 
I wasn't going to bust any Artifacts after reading about the issues but I am weak and broke many boxes this morning from two cases.

I hit five boxes from the two cases that only had insert cards. I even hit some packs where there was a total of one card plus the decoy so something went really wrong in the pack out.

some parallels are mis-cut as well, and there is something wrong with the card in this set. In case you are looking for a nice "Sigantures" card.

Wow. Sorry to those breaking this year's Artifacts... seeing lots of issues and what's with the price? None for me, thanks anyway.
 
Glad to discover this thread. I usually pickup 4-5 boxes of artifacts but given the issues that seem widespread I may just get a case if/when the price comes down.
