And now Kirby Dach is headed to Montreal, Romanov is heading to the Isles, and Chicago winds up with the 13th pick. this all happens between picks 3 and 4.

There’s a reason 3 teams passed on Wright, sure hope Ronnie Franchise knows what he’s doing because so far the Seattle experiment has been an epic failure under his watch.

He’s got 2 high end centres to build around! Seatles will take a couple of more years of growing pains but they’re setting up to be good for a loonnnnngggg time!!!

Seems a little harsh. Haven’t they only been in the league for one season?

Every insider and analyst said the same thing after the expansion draft, “what was he thinking”. And we all saw the outcome, it was brutal after all the hype. No one expected a Vegas first year result, but it was well known Ronnie was trying to hold everyone’s feet to the fire prior to the expansion draft, and when no one bit, instead of backing off and being reasonable, he doubled down and it blew up in his face. Teams went so far as to trade players he wanted because of how he went about the pre expansion draft process. I stand by the epic failure comment based on what he has, or hasn’t done so far. I hope for the fans who took out second mortgages to buy tickets that he proves me wrong, quickly.

Given time I think Wright will turn into a great player for Seattle, and don't forget he missed out on some of his development it the OHL shutdown for a year. Given that there was little difference in the top 4 I think the first three teams went with the option that best suited their current needs.
