To the people who attended. How did you do? Did you like that extra new pavilion where all the TCG dealers were with the corporate booths?

It was great, it was the Expo. Happy with my pickups and very much enjoyed the weekend, but they need to stop with this TCG section. The new Hall 1 was good, great vendors, but some sports vendors were set up in the TCG area and were drowned out or never seen. I'll scream it until I can't - it's the SPORTS card expo. I find it hard to believe they couldn't or wouldn't be able fill the area with TCG with more sports vendors. TCG has it own Expo. If you have a booth that has both sports and TCG - no problem, but my ignorance to TCG is probably showing.

Yup I agree. I talked to a sports card dealer set up on the TCG section. He said he would be lucky if he was going to break even. Not good.

Bring it back to Hall 5 with no TCG!

Other then that, was a good show! Deals could be had.

It w as interesting how some dealers had spaced out their inventory of having display cases of pokemon, along with having a few sports cards. I guess what ever work for them.

I hadn’t really been looking for much in the way of current baseball cards…however happily on Sunday I found some booths which had sellers selling Jays, selling both past & present. It was nice to have a section which they were played.
I was able to pick up a few current Jays card a which I was more than happy with. As well as to get his contact info.

Did any body take note of some of the seller’s booths where there was more focus on Jays cards?

It was one of my best Expos in a while. Traffic was pretty crazy and a lot of new faces. I never left my booth so did not see the new section. But the hobby is booming right now.

The second cafeteria was amazing as it spaced people out. I walked through the TCG section as some sellers had wrestling items that I was interested in looking at. I thought it was great and it felt like the aisles were a bit larger which made it easier to move around.

Thursday and Friday were absolutely bonkers. Saturday was busy - lots of traffic - but much slower otherwise. Sunday was surprisingly good.

I remain...concerned about this fever pitch.

I only went on the Saturday, but liked the new Hall layouts. I agree it was easier to move around and see some different things which was cool.

Always fun to see the interactions and how much people care about cards these days. While I'm not a collector who gets wrapped up in the hype of the flashy new rookie class or graded this or that, It's really fun to see from a lifeblood of the hobby standpoint right now.

I did Fall 2025 and now Spring 2026 as my first two ever. While I again bought the 3-day (Fri/Sat/Sun) pass, I again skipped going on the Saturday.

Once again, my grand total for two days was six cards - and three of those (six) were pre-arranged (Francis, Bure and Sakic).

A hobby friend from 416 (the guy with the Bure) messaged me several times on the Friday, as he found the Thibault in Gamebreakers boxes and the Redden in Chris Thompson's boxes (along with another ITG action I picked up as a dupe). Bure and Sakic were deals I negotiated at the Fall Expo and exchange cash/cards at Spring.

The Francis was a gift from Hobby Insider's own @fetter23 who came all the way from Saskatoon to chill with the Hockey Card Gongshow; and the Nurminen was found in a monster box by my Toronto hobby friend Dave Bansraj Jr., who bought as part of a huge lot and passed it on to me as a gift!

I also bought a box of 'Capybara' cards for less than the price of a sandwich from a dealer packing up his stuff at the end of day on the Sunday.

I was there from Tuesday Apr 28 to Monday May 04 - managed to spend alot of time with Mom in Scarborough and wings and beer in Ajax with four buddies from the old neighbourhood where we all grew up.

Right now I'll say I am skipping Fall 2026; but, six months ago I also said that about the Spring 2026 Expo. :P So don't count me out.

I did buy a couple more packages of pepperettes, and much to my humble shame, my son and I have already plowed through both packages as of today. :P

Nice to see a few familiar faces, and I managed to hand out a few dozen copies of my "wants" poster to dealers there - hoping they'll find a few p.c. cards for me in their monster boxes back at home!

I guess I can't really have a legitimate complaint, as eBay has been good to me in 2026 and with the above cards included, I've added 150 cards across three p.c. with likely more to follow - none of these 150+ have yet been shown on my Hobby Inside threads, Instagram, or Facebook. :) SHAMELESS PLUG--> Please follow https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61580567551418 and https://www.instagram.com/brownbullhead/ . :)

Used one of my soon-to-expire lounge passes in YYZ and had two beers and ate way too much food before a late night Monday flight home.

The magnitude of the deals, both prices and quantities, sure leaves a modest "low-end" collector like myself saying "Damn!" - but, it does seem the hobby has something for everyone!

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone else had a great Spring Expo 2026 Toronto. :)
