9 box break, 6x UD S2, 2x BD, 1x 07-08 SPA

Went to Frank And Sons to buy some old junk wax (90-91 UD, 91-92 UD and others) to hand build some sets to give to my newbie hockey fan friends...

Wound up buying a ton of boxes. But, my luck turns it into Because I...well, you'll see.

As always, everything is NFT/NFS. Next year though I may break the collection wide open to sell 90% of the cards and make cards available for trade, the latter especially if UD is still around and makes Day With The Cup and Stanley Cup Rings cards of the Kings.

I've already sorted most of this mess so you just get the highlights...

First, the 6x UD S2.

I've said repeatedly that I LOVE this product. Usually you get like 10 different cards in a box but usually they're all mild hits. But I keep crushing home run after home run. I'm still entertaining building the UD Canvas set but I not only keep opening doubles of all the Young Guns (while not hitting the YGs I need) but I won't start until I get a POE RNH.

These are the SPs. One retired vet (no POE though) and 4 SP YGs in 6 boxes? That's above average.

I need more than half of the set of YGs...and three of these four were doubles. On the other hand every time I get a retired guy, it's not a double.
Also, I wound up with an inch high stack of UD Canvas regular cards and all were doubles. When I decide to move them next season, I'll have quite a few available. I've been giving the Kings ones away to new Kings fan friends I've met.

Every box had an Exclusives /100 but no YG...only notable was the Malkin you see here. But I did hit the /10. And this Barker Champs auto...weird. Ironically this is the second one I've hit in this product...maybe it was returned late by the player? (But according to some "authorities" here on hockey card manufacturing, they never, ever do that. )

Anyways, getting hard-signed autos in UD base brand is funny. Real funny.

...really really funny!! Remember my last thread when I opened this? I started to make greedy jokes to myself that it would be funny if I opened the other auto...until it happens...at the same booth as last time. SICK?

Also, that Crosby jersey is a A...meaning one in 4000+ packs.

Not scanned in...for some reason the first three boxes each had a minor RNH RC and the last three had two more...I wound up with eight RNH RCs, half were Victory though.

The two boxes of BD were a bit ho-hum but I was happy with the Jagr.

I got this box of 07-08 SPA because the local shop I used to shop at is trying to cash in on the Kings run and had this one box.

I also bought the last pack of SPGU they had. It was all priced way too high but the owner's son took it upon himself to look up the prices and lowered them accordingly so I actually paid ok. Nice hits though.
