Hi! Never heard of them before and never seen. Any info needed, thank you fellows. Im so close to get all Stan Smyl cards, just few cards shy for 100% collection.

Maybe I'm mixing up what you're asking, but I don't recall Stan Smyl having anything to do with that set.

I believe it was recently discovered that some of the 90-91 Upper Deck cards had variations of the Upper Deck hologram on the back, since they used different holograms for different products.
The regular card has a hologram on the back that's basically in the shape of a hockey rink. The baseball cards are round (like a baseball) as are the holograms on the back of the comic ball cards. I'm not sure how to distinguish the two, but the point is that some of the hockey cards can be found with these holograms on the back instead of the rink-shaped hologram. There is also yet a 3rd variation which has holograms from the 1991-92 Upper Deck set.
I'm not sure how rare they are, but I don't think there's a significant premium either. For what it's worth, Beckett lists them all as being the same price as the regular cards.
Someone else might have better/more information, but I believe this to be what the poster is asking about.
Edit: I might have to take some of that back. The shape of the holograms might not matter at all. Apparently this card has the comic ball hologram. It's hard to tell the difference between them with scans.

The shape, I always thought it as a puck. There are variations of a diamond. There is a collector on here that has pc with a collection that has some of the variants. Don’t know his name but pretty impressive collection of cards with variant hologram stickers. I never really paid too much attention to them myself, but believe they are scattered in different print runs of the 90’s UD sets.
As stated above, no variant premium or anything but would be a great chase for PC collectors if you are into that sort of thing.
i think that UD had the same variant thing going on for the football sets in the 90’s. I believe that the “traditional-go-to” holgram that UD used to use was the diamond shape.
