98/99 Finest Refractors Question

The 98/99 Finest Refractors has a parallel that's called No Protectors. Anyone know if there's a difference between the two if the protector was taken off the original?

The back of the no-protectors parallels are much shinier and glossier than the backs of the protected ones, even if the protector is removed from the front. Very, very noticeable.

Yea it's got a chrome kind of back.

I'm using COMC's picture of the back of a regular card for my example (I didn't have a scan handy), but the first pic shown is the regular card back. Next is the no-protector back and last is the no-protector refractor back for reference.
