So a few years back, I completed a fairly rare feat when I put together the rainbow of Maxime Ouellet cards from 05-06 Heroes and Prospects - all the base, autos, mems and mem parallels.
Those who are longtime members of HI may remember why I did that particular card run.
While I was working on that run, another card popped up that gave me a thought of light pursuit - David Leneveu's 07-08 Heroes and Prospects jersey and variations.
This project was a bit easier since there were no parallels - only 3 cards to get; but unlike Ouellet, I had to content not with low-print jerseys but with low-print patches - a number and an emblem.
First came the jersey, probably within 2 months of the sets release.
The number came about 2 years later as I was able to purchase it, I believe right here on HI.
It took a couple more years to find the emblem though. I occasionally saw one pop up but the asking price was ridiculous for what it was. Yes, it's #/30, but it's Leneveu, who has had a mere sip of coffee in the big leagues.
Finally, one popped up on eBay for my right price - $15 all in. I jumped on it, and the mission is now complete.
Wait a minute... did I scan that wrong?
No, wait, I couldn't have...
But... what's that other card - that 06-07 Between the Pipes David Leneveu base card doing in there?
Huh... odd.... it seems like it has the same picture as the others...

After using a couple of my photos in 05-06 H&P, ITG asked if I had a Leneveu floating around anywhere. Indeed I did and indeed it was used.
I still keep these cards as my favourite hockey cards in my collection. Nothing - not my Teemus, not my Jets collections, not even my Lemieux rookies - means as much as these do.
