I had to go to my parent's this past weekend to get some tools (table saw and miter box saw to cut flooring for my basement), and I was looking through some stuff in my old room, and I found a notebook that I had long forgotten. It had lists of Magic cards with deck ideas, a list of the Gretzky cards I had at the time, a list of Star Wars action figures that I have (still in their original packaging to this day), and this little nugget:

 A list of cards that I decided I wanted in my collection and their values at the time.

If you can't read the names on the list, they are:

Ken Dryden RC
Bobby Clarke RC
Bill Barber RC
Billy Smith RC
John Davidson RC
Lanny McDonald RC
Denis Potvin RC
Bryan Trottier RC
Mike Bossy RC
Ray Bourque RC
Jari Kurri RC
Dino Ciccarelli RC
Steve Yzerman RC
Mario Lemieux RC
Patrick Roy RC
Alexei Morozon RC
Sergei Samsonov RC
Chris Drury RC
Marian Hossa RC
Vincent Lecavalier RC
Brian Finley RCs

At this point in my collection, I think the only one of those I am missing is the Lanny McDonald RC. Despite having forgotten this list existed, I think I did a pretty good job of completing it over the last 18-19 years. Not too bad, I'd say!

Anyone else ever have a find like this?

Very cool, I just found a few similar list that I did way back in the 80's and another in 1991-92.

Brian Finley, I thought he would be great for many years! I wrote in my old blog about him!

Cool list, I actually didn't make lists, instead I highlighted cards in my beckett that I wanted. My parents and I spent a lot of time camping growing up and I spent countless hours around the fire/in the tent by flashlight going through the beckett and highlighting cards I wanted!

Morozov was another guy who had a lot of hype!

That's really cool. A window back in time, heck, I guess that what cards are to a certain degree. At one point, as an adult, kept a written record of cards that I had traded for Kurri items. After a certain amount of time the list of all the great cards I had traded away depressed me so I threw it away. But hey, I have one heck of a Kurri collection haha.
