A couple questions regarding The Cup...

Just want to pose a couple questions regarding The Cup, which has now been out over a month:

1) Where are all of the AUTOGRAPH Rookie printing plates?? By my count there should be over 1100 in total inserted in the product. I've only seen online a few Filatov's, a Wheeler, a couple Okposo's, and then redemptions for Stamkos & Mason. What happened to the rest? All I see being pulled are the non-autographed ones.

2) Has anyone seen a Karl Alzner Gold Rainbow Auto Patch /27? I have yet to see one pulled or listed online.

Derek I with you on this one too. I have not seen a single Colton Gillies Auto plate:|

I saw a Stamkos on the Bay today, it's the first one I've seen. I didn't actually even know they existed.

they didnt make every plate that was from an auto card...autoed
there arent any autographed giroux plates...even though he had autoed rc cards

I'm just going by the UD checklist which shows Giroux should have:

(4) Auto Plates from his The Cup RC
(4) Auto Plates from his OPC Premier RC
(4) Auto Plates from his Ultimate Collection RC
(4) Auto Plates from his SP Authentic RC
(4) Auto Plates from his SPx Auto Jersey RC
and possibly 4 from his UD Black Auto Lettermen.

There's always the possibility that the UD checklist isn't accurate. Hard to believe, I know.

Derek, as per our convo the other night i think all the auto'd press plates were not inseted or held back,


or possibly inserted into the ultra rare upper deck hockey cereal boxes (bannana flavor only)which were sold exclusively to south america

Gomaz would be the one to ask, would he not? He should have pictoral evidence if they even exist or not.

Doesn't UD always hold cards back. I know they've done this in the past so why would they change.

I don't think I've see any Mayorov plates. Mind you I haven't been looking for them that much and he only has 2 rc's.

someone should tell UD in advance that any press plates held back won't count as redemption replacements.

Couple things to clear up.
1.) Next wave? Pure speculation. I don't think so.
2.) Gomaz won't have photographic evidence, as he was just photographing patches, not all the cards, ie auto plates don't have any patches that I'm aware of!

I have yet to see any Frolik auto printing plates.

Wave might've been the wrong word but I would bet money that UD hasn't shipped out all cards from their side. From Alzers to autograph printing plates to numbering on certain cards, it seems like they haven't been released.

Here is what Chris from Upper Deck Face book page said about this situation.

Here was my question to him!!! "Hey I was wondering were are all the autoed printing plates from the cup? I collect colton gilllies and I have not seen one yet? Did they get made? i have seen Mason, wheeler, Stamkos and Okposo but thats it. please fill us in. Thanks, Cole"

Here is what Chris said back to me!!! "Cole, We pulled a few printing plates from the packout because they would have been redemptions and we are always trying to use less of them at packout. We have asked the athletes in possession of those cards not to sign them. In the event they do, we may incorporate them as redemption replacements. We are holding off on finalizing the checklist until we hear definitive responses from all athletes on this."

So here was my next question to him as I was not happy with that answer "So what if the players sign them? How are we as player collectors going to know if they ever get made? As I collect Colton Gillies and was really hoping to get a few of the Printing plate autos? Also when you find out who signed them are you going to make it public so we all can know who signed them or how will I know if Colton Gillies signed them? Thanks, Cole"
