Was doing a random eBay search for Deslauriers today, and came across this guy:

Now for those not up to date on your Deslauriers knowledge (who really is besides us Buffalo fans  ) he was drafted by the Kings, and then traded to us here in Buffalo.

To my knowledge, this looks to be an Avalanche Patch to me

Just thought I'd share my findings

Very bizarre they would have 2 separate wrong patches. I was always under the impression they cut up one jersey and then divided it among a players cards. Maybe his patches got chosen from the miscellaneous / left over bin by mistake?

That was from the Annual "Wrong Jersey Day" event that Upper Deck holds to ensure collectors remain baffled about their jersey sources.

There's another one for Deslauriers that has an orange-looking patch too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-15-UPP...-RC-213-249-/361399757806?hash=item54251aabee

I think this orange looking patch is really just a chunk of yellow number that doesn't show up right on a scan. Seems to happen frequently.

For example this Foligno I have has a Yellowish-Orange color but it's really yellow.

Yea I think the second one may be yellow but looks orange under different lighting. He has a few posted up that look odd but at second look it's yellow.

I noticed an "Oops" before I bought this Joseph EoE.

The team name says Arizona Coyotes. I don't know how that got missed but it did.

"Mistakes happen, they handle a lot of cards". All UD and ITG apologists.

Honestly with the practices of certain companies lately I wouldn't put it past any of these companies to start using fake jersey material.

I get the sense things have improved in recent years, though I've been out of the hobby. Upper Deck stuff was getting so bad I absolutely didn't trust anything in their packs. But, I'd hate to think we'd have the type of malice from the companies to actually fake things.

That said, for a nice high end mistake, check out the back of the 2006-07 The Cup Cam Ward base card. They just gave up half way through the bio.
