A long wait for a redemption replacement

So, I pulled a dual shield auto redemption 2 years ago of Radulov/Arnott, and redeemed it. Two years pass, and I never bugged UD about it, because I wanted the card. Additionally, I was worried that UD would swap it out with some garbage and say all was good.

I was at the National show in August and I happened to engage in a conversation with UD's redemption manager. I told him about the card, and amazingly, he knew which one I was talking about. I told him, that I really wanted a shield card, and that I didn't care about the player selection. He said he would see what he could do.

Really long story, short. I get an email asking if it was OK to swap the Radulov/Arnott with another shield. I agreed. So here is what I got.

In addition, UD threw in a couple of "Bonus" cards.

I think it was a fair swap... actually I think I did really good!:beer:

Very nice replacement - I think it's safe to say that we know who was the hold-up on that card and that it was very unlikely he'd be signing it any time soon. Congrats.

Hopefully, the Doan/Boedeker Dual Auto Shield redemption card has expired. I'd hate to pull it and redeem it and not get it if it wasn't.

it was pulled from the checklist. the only Doan auto shield was with Mueller. counting this one, this is the 23rd Dual Auto Shield to appear that wasn't originally on the checklist.

as far as I'm concerned, this is the ultimate proof that UD intentionally holds back cards to use as replacements.

2nd! a) But, d'oh, what about those who collect Jason? or Sascha (abbrev. for Alexander) :-(

b) UD knew your case for 2 years and wondered themselves how to satisfy you? What would have happened, if you luckily, didn't happened and wouldn't happen soon, passed away? Or didn't had the chance ever to meet a UD-rep in person?

Sh*t happens? No, that is same lame way to produce, e. g. b's-patch cards of a player that is shown in his new uniform for 3 years and ongoing.

I would have been sacked, immediately, if I would have this philosophy in my job! :-(
